This thread is going to be really annoying... And really inspiring all at the same time... When decked out with umpteen hours of loving care and judicious layers of wax the S2 looks brilliant. If I get time to wash mine twice a year its a firkin miracle. Also confirmed my theory that the old Avus wheel is perfect for the S2 when all is shiny as can be... I'm getting my Avus wheels refurbed and back on ASAP.

      LMAO

You will get the bug eventually. If you had your car detailed I think you would enjoy looking after it. (Which is the easy bit)

      Cheers,

      Steve.

Productive day today - decided to set about the APPALLING brakes - really, my 1.5 Clio had better... Full flush of fluid and clean stuff in, and it can pull my face off if I stand on the middle pedal now - I think the giveaway was putting near twice as much in as I got out! Just need to bin the pads (EBC Redstuff) for something a little better - PF97s were my favourite on the Clio 182, but Pagid and Ferodo do good offerings that don't dissolve your paintwork!

Total cost of today's work - £40 - I didn't even take anything off my knuckles! Very happy with the results.

Fixed the lamp in the Ambient Temperature Display for £1.09 today, and collected a massive amount of bolts/nuts/gaskets/washers from Audi ready for Saturday...

Well, another day of hard graft done - shampooed the mats and gave the rest of the inside a thorough vacuuming, and treated the dashboard and other fake leather with Vinyl preserve.

Stereo is fitted - Alpine 9861Ri iPod FullSpeed unit. Was tempted with the iDA-X100 but it would look out of place, where I think this one just about passes...

Just the Leatherique to do on the inside, and maybe some speakers (only cheapies though!).

I tried to replace the bulb and fried the board. Cost me £65 for a new one! I am useless at soldering though, and should have known better!

You have to be very careful - I've got a temperature controlled iron so can perform a bit of 'damage limitation'!

There is nothing that looks as good as a really tidy S2... Going to give mine a proper do-over today=)

Today's job... Collect all the exhaust bits from everywhere ready for tomorrow:

De-cat pipes are all sealed up in the box ready to go unfortunately - pics when I arrive tomorrow at Pro-Speed, hopefully with progress pictures at the same time!
