My 20 cents goes to "none single disc clutch will hold."

      You need multiplate clutch.

didnt think i would be seeing that clutch so soon

i have spec stage 4 in the mk2. not done that many miles in that and have only launched twice. wheel spin is more of a problem than clutch slip.

not many options for clutches once you push past the 600bhp and 500ftlb region, unless you want to spank loads of money

It's usually the case that the Gucci part you want is 3 to 4 times the cost of something that nearly does the job... you break 3 of the lesser items and spank money and time replacing them each time and end up getting the Gucci part in the end. BTDT a few times.

It would be interesting to hear what sort of mulitplate clutch Repo would recomend at those power levels? And how much for the clutch would also be helpful!

I have AP racing twin plate kits for 01E in stock. Holds +1000Nm constant, and appr. 1800Nm momentary. E.g. Paavola uses one of these in his 9.2 sec drag cars. No issues so far, after two seasons on quarter, and occasional street driving.

                Will post pics later today.

Price is 1980 eur incl 22% vat.

Package includes CrMo flywheel, starter gear, plates to meet the spline You have, pressure assy and special thrust bearing.

Sounds like if you are pushing huge power in the long run it would be worth getting something like that. Its fast paying for itself seeing as its already done 2 seasons!

Do you have anything for the 016 box?

And not very street friendly. I've used a tripple plate Tilton a couple of years on the street, and it's no fun at all. No slipping even when you want it

From left to right: 016 and 1.8T with 12 trigger pins, 01E and 2.7T and on the right 01E and I5

2.7 can also be done with oe replacement 60-2 trigger, and it's MACHINED to the CrMo wheel, not piece of sheet metal, wrapped around.

Also note the motronic reference trigger pin in I5 flywheel:

We also have clutches for all 1.8T's, and can practically make a clutch and a flywheel to any motor/gearbox combination.

i have heard a lot about spec, but i believe that it all has to do with what powers they are used.My experience so far seems to be that the spec 3+ disc i bought as a kit from 034,is holding on nicely.Yes this one can hold about 100hp more than what im producing, but for me thats the whole idea.To get something much stroger to use, rather than being borderline.
Obviously it is not the same with high powered cars, but at least they seem to work on moderatelly powered cars

Clutches and the S2 , the only one that didn't slip in my motor was a standard Sachs replacement item. The RS2 turbo gives most of the aftermarket units a hard time, Doug's setup will kill them in no time. Is the stage 4 unit the one with double diaphram springs?
