      Lean one

      So, to resume:

      Hardware is as follows:
      - 200 20V with 3b engine, rebuilt
      - RS2 turbo
      - RS2 EM
      - original 3b airbox with additional 80mm hole in the bottom
      - big FMIC
      - standard 220v exhaust, no cats
      - 4 bar fuel pressure regulator
      - RS2 replica injectors from 034
      - RS2 software for 3b
      - motorola 3bar map sensor

Car is strugling to make boost, mixture goes completely lean (I have AFM on standard o2 sensor) as soon as I press more that half a throtle.
Car eventually makes 0.8 bar, but I'm afraid to hold WOT for more that 2-3 seconds with such a lean mixture.

      I tried swaping:

      - 2 different fuel pressure regulators
      - 2 different versions of software
      - RS2 fuel pump

      No result.

Any opinions ? Could it be bad MAP sensor ? Is reads 0.7 on the dash where original map used to read 1 (with engine not running), but I guess it's to different scaling.

      Thank you,
      Mario

And my self-replies go on ...

Did a little bit more testing today: mounted fuel pressure gauge, and it seems to be ok: some 3.7 bar at iddle, and raising with boost. But car just refuse to go ... until some 5000 rpm.
So, until some 5000rpm I have almost no boost (less that 0.5 bar) with air/fuel meter completely on lean side (unfortunately, I don't have wide band). But once after 5000rpm, boost raise to 1.55bar and she rocket herself.
I am really out of ideas what could that be other than map totally unadjusted to my hardware (7a exhaust cam and big FMIC in particular).
        Opinions, please ?

        Thank you,
        Mario

i dont understand how you can measure the AFR without a wide band...

if you are only using a narroband, then if the mixture is going into lamda=1 then that is normal,as the narroband cannot measure rich mixture anyway

I have one of those air/fuel meters connected to stock lambda sensor. It only have lean/normal/rich scale, but it can give you some perspective what is going on. But even if it's totally inacurate, my "butt-sensor" tells me car isn't going anywhere.

I bought software from a guy on german Meckis forum. He said it's been "made by MTM, 360HP/540NM, 1.9 bar overboost and 1.3 at 7.000 rpm", but who knows ... Too bad it's such hard to find 3b software, hope Paul will improve that soon.

afr will never show you how rich the mixture actually is with the narrow band lamda sensor.YOu cannot judge by that.Get yourself a wideband fitted and do the tests

                    I will.
However, if this instrument is stuck in lean on wot at anything bellow 5000 rpm, car doesn't make a boost and goes nowhere, it tells me there's something wrong, or ?

I have Aron's items in engine, he said these are good up to 5000HP/12000 NM.
