My name is Hank and I have been lurking for years now. I do not really have an S2, but I do have two 20vt cars. After picking up my 95.5 S6 this last weekend, I decided it was time to introduce both of those cars as projects.
I am going to start with my URQ, and give you the run down of that car...
It is a 1981 car imported from the motherland by a car collector in Reno Nevada( did you see the last episode of Top gear... American Muscle?) It was in a showroom with the other cars till 1995 when the owner was killed in an accident and his children took over the estate. One of his daughters took interest in the URQ and drove it as a daily driver untill 2000 when with 91k miles on it, she blew the headgasket. The car was sold to a fellow in California and he drove it a handfull of miles before I read an ad on the internet that there was an URQ in California for cheap without a motor. I called and bought it sight unseen, and drove from Las Vegas to San Diego that next day. This was the car when The girl was driving it..

So I took delivery of the car and at the time I was driving a 5000cs quattro with a sweet stereo and crap.. I was 20 at the time, and had been bitten by the fast bug. So out with the teen "stereo" and onto the fast parts. As a welder, I had built a header for my 5ktq, and I had went with Javads 034 EFI IIc ECU which was really new at the time. The 5ktq was pretty darn quick, but that motor was swapped into the URQ and a new header had to be built. I was going out of the country for a couple of years, so I had a stick up my butt to get the car done. I literally had the car running in 2 weeks. I drove it to a car show in Califonia three weeks later and then a couple weeks after that I took it to Pikes Peak.

The car got some camber plates, coilovers and a Water Injection kit before I went to Brazil for a couple of years. I also tried out the 3071r on the 10vt. It was a great turbo. I trusted the car to my Uncle who had just bought an STI. Long story short, I put 9k miles on that car in 4 months, and he lasted about 125 before he dropped a valve on the 10vt motor. So the car sat for 20 months till I got home in the fall of 2007 and found it like this.

So I had been collecting 20vt parts for a while, and this was just an excuse to build a motor. I got some JE pistons from a fellow in England and bought some Scat rods. My Dad donated some RS2 bearings for hte bottom end and I put the bottom end together with ARP stuff. I cleaned up the 20k mile head and put a Spec 3+ clutch in with an aluminum wheel. I modified a header I had bought from Europe, and got ahold of a 30r. I modified an ANN IM mani to fit.
