did i hear about a 4 wheel spinning adventure into the parking lot of Henderson Audi????
yup...if you look hard, you can see the remnants of some vapourized rubber...and everyone's neck spinning around to see what the ^&*( was going on...and it's not so easy to spin all four while pointing downhill...running some serious power
Do you have more info on that intercooler and the intake temps you get? It seems fitting a large IC to an UrQ brings only headaches, but if you have a solution please let us know. Cheers
Bram,
To be honest, the IC is what I think is my weak link right now. You are right, there isn't any room for a good core in the urq, especially if one plans to keep the core support. The core you see is a 22x9x2.25 tube and fin core, and it does all right with temps, but the pressure drop across the core is not acceptable. IE, the restriction is too great.
The good news in going 01e? The transmission is physically shorter hten the 016. Instead of using a 15mm spacer to make up the difference, I just notched the engine mounts to help them go back 15mm and then the transmission mounts are built to accept that 15mm without a problem
This is awesome as it puts another 15mm/almost 3/4 of an inch in the front of the URQ. This means that you can find nice 3" wide cores that will support lots more horsepower. I plan on making a nice garrett core based IC for my project really soon.
