Yeah, have to see how it goes, don't forget there's the rears to go on yet, they'll drop the back a lot and the long front overhang will be closer to flat.

Another option is to go coiulovers with stock rideheight and 300-400lb springs. I want to see how the Devon boys got on with Mances CCK setup as that really is a work of art and might be a suitable upgrade in the future. Just doing the rears might work but I'm not convinced with the idea of mixing plain coilover springs with the HnR variable rate items...

Low cars are nice to look at (to a certain extent anyway) but they don't necessarily improve the handling and as you say B roads are a bit of a nightmare. I remember Bo chasing me down a very bumpy raod in the Cotswolds and he couldn't keep up as his HnRs & Billies wer spitting him off every bump on the road and my Koni & OE setup worked very well

yup, h&rs, billies and add in some poor alignment and things can start to get the wrong side of hairy on the b-roads thats for sure. Get back on the smoothies and they just come to life and ooze performance with control

              Looking good Andy!

It looks like a pimped up low rider

Nit sure I'll get the back springs on before ADI so it might cause some amusement if I can get there

                  Andy,
Is there a link somewhere to the CCK set-up and Pro-Mounts?
THe site I knew of seems to be down.
Cheers mate and glad to see your project constantly progressing.

Managed to pop out in the old girl today and she felt fine on the new front end, not much crashier than before so that's good. Brakes are a load better on new front discs & pads, looking forward to new lines and fluid.

Steering feels different with the new springs and top mounts but it needs 4 wheel aligning when all done so that's more likely the issue.

Need to get booked in for the rears next, then replace the front steering rods and finally it's brakes o'clock. Looking forward to this phase being completed, it drove well before so some tlc will put the icing on the cake

Stripped rear interior will get some tweaks too and hopefully I'll get the carpet out for some sound deadening removal and replacement... Also need to identify the passenger door leak.

                      Keep going...

Rear springs are now on, as are new steering arms and ball joints. Needs a full 4 wheel alignment so going to sort that out soon as I can't drive it as is, it's awful

Rear springs have dropped it 20mm, it's sitting very low on them, especially as it's not got any interior in the rear, will have to see how it sits after some settling. Could be that the pro mounts up front have raised it up a little and the 034 mounts at the rear are pretty much stock.

Did laugh a little when I adjusted the rear shocks, they were about 0.25 turns from fully stiff (were supposed to be 1), fronts were 1.5 so that might explaing the hilarious oversteer I've managed to coax out of it over the years (as would the 25mm RARB). Both front and rear shocks are set to 0.5 turns from stiff now, have to wait and see how that feels.

A mate is getting the car 4 wheel aligned tomorrow for me, there's a place by his work so saves me venturing out. Looking forward to it, handling was quite interesting on stock rears, HnR fronts, was certainly sharp on turn-in (supporting Llyod's stated spring rates). Might have to get some front HnRs on the rear to get over the possible rideheight issue and possibly stiffen the rear up... These things are never finished IME
