FYI, I think both Imageshack and Photobucket (fotophucket) suck. Do you have a Picasa account? It's free if you have a google account.

I look forward to seeing the whole build thread with pics one of these days.

I have a question, and wasn't sure where to ask it, so I figured I'd post it here as you guys would probably know, but can you tell me if the RS2 uses the same Nippondenso AC compressor as found on a urS4?

If you don't know, can one of you with the car apart please post pics of the AC compressor and lines and maybe the part number?

    Thanks for the help!

Great restoration. This vehicle is going to be amazing when complete!

How long was the RS2 in the water and was it totally submerged?

Hmmm, very close to the number from my urS4 compressor.

I pulled this off my compressor box this afternoon, as I had to visit the storage unit.

I wonder now if they are actually the same. Dave?

Am I the only person who can't see the embedded images? Seems like there is a problem with the image host. I would love to see more of the car and what you've done with it, but all the images appear to be broken links (at least to me).

NEVERMIND... UPDATE > The place I was using wi-fi must have had something blocked. I can see them now. And, wow... what a mess! But, what a fantastic project! I'm glad you took it on and are breathing new life back into that amazing car!

Sorry, it was a clear evening last night so there were no clouds to shine the BatSignal onto and I missed it.

Anyway, 4A0260805AH shows up as both the UrS4/S6 R134a A/C compressor, i.e. refrigerant compressor with electromagnetic coupling, "ZEXEL", *AND* the B3/B4 compressor for VINs after 8B-PA 002762 for the B3s and 8C-PA 1001001 for the B4s. What this implies is some early 1993 model year B3s and B4s might have got the older R12 system and then there was a switch to R134a. I know this is true for the C4 UrS4s, i.e. early 1993 MY UrS4s got R12 and then my Sept 1992, there was a switch to R134a.

8A0260805AC was dropped on 31/12/1997 for a 8A0260805AF. 8A0260805AF is also an R134a compressor but it was not used on any C4s. It was used on NG, 3B and ABYs after 8B PA 002762 and the RS2 ADUs. So that makes me go back and check 4A0260805AH again to see which B3/B4 engine it was on (thinking V6).

Yup. I missed it the first time but 4A0260805AH is for the C4s but only the V6 B3/B4s.

They might be the exact same compressor but the mounts or the pulleys might be different. Can't tell that from part numbers. You'd have to have them both side by side to confirm/deny that bit.

That help? Can I have me brekkie now?

Dave... Bat signal received! thanks for your expertise as usual.

I'm going to pull it out and take some detailed pictures of it with my tape measure next to it and hopefully someone with an RS2 can do the same with on off the car. I'm thinking it's essentially the same compressor, with something different somewhere... hence the slightly different part number.

It is good news that it MAY work on the RS2 as well... But, would like to know for sure. While it's going to be hard to get an RS2 compressor beside mine, I think pics should tell what is different about these compressors.

Great build thread and look forward to more!
