    its alive finally....

yes, its a 4cyl 20v motor. sorry to disappoint you guys over there. but it was >550 FWHP when in the rabbit, with only a small 35R on it. now it has much more turbo. the larger motor i am saving to premiere next season.... i am going to break in the chassis on the smaller one.

next saturday shakedown passes @ Import Challenge. the sunday gonna really step on it and see what happens @ Pacific Waterlands show.

Eurotuner and possibly PVW will be present for show coverage....

hope it does better than the rabbit. i should have some traction at least, with 4 x 24.5 - 8.5 / 15 M&H slicks on Convo-Pro rims front 7.5" and rear 8.5"....

here is the first start up. it is idling now (but not in this vid), and i am waiting on that Lugnuts character to get back to me so we can set up some time to mess with it.

it idles now..... here is a little clip of it. its loud. i do need to get some tweaks done. maybe i will go back to the Map i ran when i finished last year.... we did modify it to turn down the boost for each gear this past track day, in search of traction which was never found when this motor was in the rabbit chassis....

anyhow, thats it for today. i am gonna do some tidying up of the garage now. its wrecked LOL.

and work on plumbing in the twin wastegates and boost control solenoid.

Nice. Keep us posted how the first launches go.

Mind, You need a LOOT more power to launch this hunk than You did with the rabbit, so prepare to stall her a couple of times

Thumbs up nevertheless. Would love to see You hitting low tens with 4 pot.

Jyrki, ya i know what you mean.... and the twin-plate clutch will take a bit to get used to as well

here is a quick spin up the street. no boost piping on it, so its just N/A at this point.

turbo is Bullseye Power S366XL T4 divided inlet 1.00 A/R on a twin scroll manifold with dual Tial MV-s v-band wastegates. on a lowly little 1825cc 20v 4 banger.

          a lil walk around vid.

Aaron, Dave from motorgeek here, I'm curious... how is the staggered wheel/tire set up going to work out? I have heard some horror stories about it... I know at the miller track a TT slammed into a wall after his diff blew up supposedly because he was running a staggered set up...

              Your video explains your remark

Is it an on/off your clutch? What make is it again?

Dave; i talked again with John @ M&H about tires and such. we are all good to go. with the nominal rim width these tires take, it is just a little wider track that is going to be, not a rolling circumference change. notice the sidewall outward bulge from front to rear is less pronounced on the rears....

and Bram, ya, it will take some getting used to. it is an on/off type setup.

Clutchmasters FX-700 twin-plate, with aluminum flywheel option.

so the weigh-in. heavier than i had hoped. forgot that AWIC water weighs a good portion and that is at least 13 gallons right there. the truck scale goes in 50 lb increments i guess.

so it is between 2500-2550 without me, and a solid 2750 with me. i am ~230 so ~2500-ish lbs for the car, all fluids full.

i added a couple bars to the cage as well, but it still is much lighter than it started.

and man does it look ready to go.

                          may not be any times.....

first pull overboosted to 45 psi; there was a problem with WG control waaaayyyy too much duty cycle as we took off where i left off on the rabbit and the 35R. this turbo puts out a bit more BALLZ! that was 553 AWHP lifting @ 6500 or so. and it blew the boost line to the ECU to run the MAP sensor.

next run ran 353 AWHP off the WG springs only, 1 BAR boost.

made ~590 AWHP in 3rd gear @ 7500 rpm with maybe 34 psi. that was 3rd pull.

ended the night with it blown up, spewing white smoke, not running at all and pushed onto the trailer .

anyone think i can build a head and still race sunday? imma give it the old college try...

if not its a booth car for the show

and i even have it all blowing up on video. but man it sounded FOKKING MEAN!!!!!!

the root of all of this is that i did not have the head checked the last time it lifted.... so thats the problem. i have another AEB head, all stock. i am thinking to take the 3652 cams out of the ported head and setting up the stock head. i made heaps of power plenty before the limit of stock springs.... and this was all 3rd gear pulls, too.

and you guys would not believe the dynamics of being around this car whilst it is being "pulled" on the dyno. the air is charged...

this thing HOWLS up top. when it starts to go, it GOES....
