No pictures but i've been working on the sound system. I told myself to wait on this project of mine but ended up working on it. I figured if i've got the majority of the interior of the car out I really need to just do it. I had some problems to solve because the setup i made for the coupe had to make some big changes. On and off I thought about a few things for the past few days and then decided how to solve a problem. The problem was that my coupe didn't have a passenger airbag and I designed the sound system setup to work with the crossovers behind the dash in that area. Honestly in the sedan with the airbag system there is not much room at all for the crossovers. So I used one of my abs plastic boxes that i own and put the crossovers in it and then properly set it up so it's water tight and now it's located under the passenger seat. I had water in my car when it sat outside for a bit. I didn't want to chance any future problems if it were to ever happen again. It leaked in because of a few reasons. Mainly the whole blower motor box setup wasn't in the car. Anyways, I'm quite pleased with the final results and it actually alot nicer than my original setup in the coupe. It's been an ongoing build with the sound system. It doesn't have any woofers but it's 8 speaker with an amp and two sets of crossovers. I used delphi metri-pack engine connectors to make it modular and "monster cable" as the speaker wire. I located speakers in the front doors vs the dash speaker setup and i haven't decided on where to mount the tweeters but i think they're going in the dash where the side window defroster vents are located. The Dash speaker area is going to become a little project I'm going to try out. Also from reading online a "seperate" setup works best with the woofer speakers mounted low. I just ordered a few parts to finish the setup. Hopefully I can finish the sound system in a few days and work on getting the interior back together. The bonus of getting this done is that hopefully I won't have to take the interior of the car apart again for a long time.

I got some decent stuff done. I played around with a few airbox ideas. I didn't bother working on the sound system because I went to the junk yard today and got the b3 vacuum booster bracket i've been waiting to grab for a few weeks now. I'm getting alot closer to having all the parts that I need to get the interior together and the engine running. Maybe within a months time. Just in time to get working on the v8 sedan.

P.S. I've never been so happy to cut up that stupid frigen coupe quattro. God I Love the "SALOON".

I've been busy with a mild rebuild/clean up. Next year or so I'll really do it up but for now I'm just making it easier to work on the engine. I also went on somewhat of a vacation if you can call it that? I went to upstate NY to pull apart a friends v8 parts car. I snagged a few things while I was there. I've got a v8 rear diff now and some other goodies.

Sound system is just about done. When the car is somewhat driving I'll take alot of pictures of stuff I did and explain it but for now I'm getting lazy with posting. If u had any questions I'll answer them.

It's not that bad to put the 20vT in the v6 engine bay. I however do not have a s2 parts car and i've been doing it a little different here and there on purpose.

Oh yah my engine stand nut that locked the shaft in place to keep the engine in one spot decided to dethread itself with the v8 so the 5 cylinder is sitting on a cart for now until I find time to fix the stand so I can get the exhaust manifold and turbo on the block.

Has anyone successfully got the engine bolts attached to the transmission with the intake manifold on? That's the other thing I was debating.

I should of taken some pictures. I spent a wopping 35 hours in the garage this weekend. I don't have a life it seems but it's fine.

Maybe this week the engine will run.

                Got some pics.

                Quick explanation?

Coil overs are in and new tie rods, ball joints, and upper strut mounts, and suspension bolts. Fuel lines are allmost all figured out (waiting for parts). Starter and alternator wiring is almost done (waiting for parts). The alternator wiring (2 gauge) goes to the starter, 2 gauge from the starter to the engine mount (via a junction box from an audi 100 v6) and then from there over to the bulkhead fitting on the firewall. I used push in tube fittings for the boost line and ecu lines and routed it through the AC grommet
( I'm waiting on a air filter that changes color when it gets to much oil in it). I also routed the exhaust gas temperature gauge through the AC grommet. I started to mock up the lines for the power steering additional stock v6 cooler. Radiator is all done and mounted and also the brake lines in the engine bay are complete. Engine harness is in the bay but i've yet to plug it into anything under the dash. Carbon canister setup is also done and I used another v6 hard line to route it back to the firewall. The check valve on the booster (summit racing unit) has an AN fitting on it. I was a sucker and wanted it for some reason. I've got two other check valve in the system as of right now but i need to figure it out and see i've over engineeered it.
I also routed all the headlight harness and fan harness behind the fan resistor setup. It tidy's up the engine bay and also me to route the power steering lines a bit better now.

Things are going well. I'd like to here it run maybe within a few weeks if not sooner.

Well I've gone through a few few air box ideas. Luckly i've got three v6 bottom air boxes to play with these days but it only took two to get me somewhere close to being happy. I took some parts from my audi ABZ V8 intake and next thing u know it I've got a decent intake setup idea going somewhere.

It's functional (I just need to figure out how to finish it):

That idea with the extra airfilter at the bottom looks interesting, but where will you put your oil cooler?

I'm still using the v8 engine, but in another sedan(saloon) and not a coupe now. It's an ABZ audi 4.2L v8 engine from an audi A8. It fits nice in the ABY and V6 engine bays but not some much in the 3b and 7a engine bays in my opinion.

Oil cooler is mounted above the crossmember now. I may not use the cone filter, and get a dual ducting and route one 3" section to the air box, and the other to the brakes. I have a habit of playing around with the parts i own. That just happen to be a thought that crossed my mind. I think there is a good chance If i like the setup I may plug the stock top usual intake portion of the box.

I've had just about one of the worst weeks of my life this week and it's still not over.
This all being said i've found a little time to run to the garage and have gotten to the point where maybe i can pull the engine out and get everything back together and maybe get it running next week.

I painted alot of the stuff black to contrast the silver engine. I like the power steering tank black and the others but may just get new tanks at some point. For now it's a different look u don't see often and i like it.

I even did the ABS pump and master cylinder black.
