    Audi S2 Project!

    Hi all!
I think it's time to introduce you all to my car, a 1991 S2 that I imported here to Iceland from Sweden in the winter 2007-2008 with help from my brother and Daniel at Arctic Tuning. In february 2008 I received a big package from Sweden with some nice bits, I bought the Arctic Tuning 450hp kit +pistons and rods!

    The spec list:

    Engine: 3B 2226cc 20v turbo

    Turbo from GIK, Sweden

Exhaust manifold from CP-S in Sweden

    Cams from Arctic-Tuning

    Home made intake manifold

    Delphi 525cc injectors

    Bosch 044 fuel pump

    2x Bosch BOV

    Bigger MAF housing

    3bar MAP sensor

    Bigger FMIC

Vems round gauge, lambda and EGT

    Auto Meter boost gauge

This is how it all looked like in the fall 2008 after an rather uneventful summer for me, because of a few failures in the car and I was working a lot

Then in the start of 2009 I decided to make my own intake, and I also made new engine mounts since both the original ones broke, and I also made my own short shifter...

Then after everything was put together it was time to go for a drive in the snow!!

But then in april 2009 the distributor rotor melted for some reason which resulted in heavy pinging and melted pistons...

Then there was nothing else to do than just put in an block with original pistons and rods, I used my brothers old block. The car was then ready for the summer and I entered a few drag races.

So this would be my car!

Here are some videos from a drag race last summer, my best time is 11.800@115MPH! You can also see my brothers car in the last video, 1992 S4...

A good friend of mine is a dealer for Vems and has tuned a few cars with Vems, he will help me if he can find some time, but he is finishing BSc in motorsport technology in the UK and will start with MSc in Race engine design course next fall.

But does anyone have any good suggestions on which coils I should use? What is the cheapest and best way to turn a 3B to a Vems 5 coil?

Wish I knew you had an S2 in Iceland, I was there three weeks ago! Maybe you can help me find some Land Rover parts as I didn't get the time!

BTW there are a number of options I guess.

034 do a high output kit for the ABY/AAN/ADU which removes the POSs so you wouldn't need them.

There is a 1.8T coil kit, but they dont last that long under heat, apparently, although you can get them cheap and from an audi dealer.

An LS2? kit, I don't know the ins and outs of this, but believe it is a very good kit.

You could get a second hand ABY etc set of coils and POSs.

I dont think the 3B has the cam hall sensor? but with Vems this may not matter anyway, however I believe VEMS, or at least EFI who advertise on the forum, do a cable kit to convert the 3B to distributerless.

                              I hope that helps!
