    Help!

    Hello all,

I am now the proud owner of my first ever S2.

unfortunately, she's not in a terribly good way.

(good thing i got it for a grand)

this is the only photo i have so far, it's rubbish i know, but if you look carefully, you'll notice there are no bits of trim under the door on the side.

i keep referring to them as skirts, but perhaps that is not the correct term for them.

the reason it's missing is due to the hideous bodykit that was once on this car.

can anyone clear up what parts i need on the side to cover up the metal?

a part number would be v handy.

    thanks all

I just gave a pair of them away on sunday, they are the lower door trims and there is part numbers on here, looks like yours have been colour coded.

Just need some stock bumpers and wheels and it should be a lovely car. Welcome and need more pics

Had a bit more time to meddle with the car today and take a few more snaps.
                      have some new concerns too.

there is a river of hydraulic fluid pissing out of what i think is the power steering pump (pictured below), im hoping thats just a seal or 'o' ring or something.
also the car makes a horrible noise when steering.

secondly, it's quite smokey, white smoke though not dark, and it doesnt smell of oil, and it had been sat around for a while.

third it makes a loud slamming noise when you accelerate hard, or lift off sharply (the bloke i bought it from said it needs a bush at the back somewhere.

fourth, the intercooler seems to be spitting out water or some fluid from that loose bit on the right, it looks like its dropped down slightly. not sure what's going on there. (pic below.)

Can you please resize the pics they are too big, thanks

Get a 2nd hand PAS pump, from experience once the o-ring goes the PAS aint the same even after replacement.

I replaced that seal on my old pump twice, got a new 2nd hand pump problem sorted

use a photobucket account to host the pictures - they auto re-size.

power steering pump - either new pump or new cross head screw from the top (think I have one still in the bag somewhere)

diff noise - most likely the big bush at the rear

intercooler leak - do a search for mark h mod

the above are all not too bad to sort, not the worst by far.

bodywork looks like it will take a bit longer but tbh that ain't too bad and easily sortable.

Regarding the smoke - its most likely what all 3b's do if they've stood long, especially if they have a full stainless.
