            Yep I have.

However, as already mentioned I had to have two custom rads and also custom IC to get all to fit and work properly (the IC is actually two escort cosworth units welded together but worked really well). THe bumper then also had to be customised.

              1. you would need to use different CV joints on you shafts so that it matches the cups on the gearbox and has the smaller type splines on your hubs
              2. use the slightly shorter propshaft as the 6 speed box is slightly longer.
              3. you need a six speed box subframe as the gearbox mounts are at different heights or fabricate a packer to fill the gap.
              4. You will need to alter either the tunnel in the car to suit the 6 speed linkage which after investigation if you ever get stopped and inspected at the DVLA it will be subject to the "BIVA" which means you car could end up on a Q plate due to monocoque body modification. or there is a way you can use another type of linkage and its some custom fabrication time.
              5. You will need the different clutch hose so that it clears the linkage.
              6. You don't really want to use the dual mass flywheel so swapping to a 3B or 7A flywheel and clutch would be advised.
              7. The gearbox is torsen and the old box has vacuum operated diffs so there is some modification to sort the dash control.
Have to disagree on some points there.
              1) Different shafts yes (I used 20V quattro), transplanting the flanges from the 5 speed with some minor modification and the Type 85 CV's go straight on.
              2) Actually the 6 speed is shorter and I had a spacer made to fill the gap with suitably longer bolts to match.
              3) No you don't need a different subframe. Still using my original without issue.
              4) Simple modification to the Cq shift linkage is all thats needed and allows the plate fitted to CGR S2 gearboxes to be thrown away to provide much needed room.
              5) Still using my KV clutch hose too, with the 6 speed slave fitted straight to it.
              6) Agreed.
              7) Simply shorten and plug the centre diff hoses and you still keep manual locking of the rear diff as before.
              8) One thing missed is the modification for the speedo sensor so the mechanical speedo cable can be retained.
QED. Think I've sent my article on this to you Gaz.

is the rear diff a 4.1;1? you need to use that with the 6 speed

Cq drivers are lucky as they come with the 4.11 ratio unlike Ur q that uses a 3.?? ratio

Nope.. Life happened and in fact it never made it into the car and the engine has spent the last 10 years in the shed.

Sorry for the necro thread bump but I'm planning on finally trying to get this done (with a little/lot of help from you guys)

So, I still need a suitable flywheel and clutch to mate the S4 AAN engine into the Type-85 CQ .
From what I've been told that needs to be an Audi 200 3B flywheel? and an uprated clutch for a UR quattro ? Plus some kind of needle bearing?

If anybody has what I need or knows if these parts can be bought new, let me know and I will start finally throwing some money at this.

Out of interest, is the Audi 200 3B flywheel Single Mass or Dual Mass?

                              Bump

Would love to get this finally sorted and installed if anybody can help me find the parts I need for mating up the AAN to the standard type 85 CQ gear box?

                                So an update or two!

I now have the sachs clutch , pressure plate and new release bearing along with a custom made RR flywheel , new master and slave cylinders and some new engine mounts.

Still need to find a needle bearing to fit into the end of my crank shaft though.

Also bought some new wishbones and top mounts.

Fingers crossed I don't run out of money before this is completed as it is getting quite expensive. :$
