I wish I had this sort of determination, feel I must up my game alittle for the sake of my poor old S2. Hats off to you sir

Suspension update. (The dreaded tin worm!)

After stripping down the last of the suspension, it was all dropped off at the powder coaters.
While there he noticed a small hole so suggested that he would blast it that night and then for me to pick it up and weld it.

This was not the case though.

    After blasting.....

So after a bit of thinking I decided to source another subframe. Not the easiest to get hold of clean ones and as I need one sharpish, I contacted Will @ VRS and he managed to send a CQ one out to me.
That arrived yesterday so after work set out to change the ARB and track control arm mounts over.

This was dropped back at the powder coaters this morning and hopefully should be done by the end of next week.
    I'll update more soon.

After nearly a 600mile round trip I Left JNL Racing this morning with a full boot of bits back from balancing plus the rings and shells that JP managed to source for me.

Hopefully in the next few days I'll be able to finish stripping the last of the suspension so I can get a quote from the powder coaters.

Still stockpiling parts slowly. Another small batch from TPS and some parts off forum members!

Still need to order all the nuts and bolts for the lower arms and the struts and need to get a new rack gaiter.

Also dropped my internals off with JP on friday and got sent these through today. It's nice to see clean parts going back together!

See here for some details on diff seals:-

Let me know if you measure the large seal and I'll also see if I can get them.

    Quick update,

Started stripping down the rear suspension this evening. Got a few bushes pressed out and then decided to start stripping the rear drive shafts as my new gaiters arrived in work today so thought I might as well see how bad they were.

N/S drive shaft didn't look too bad grease was a bit black and thin but when I removed the O/S shaft from the diff it was obvious that water had crept into the gaiter and rotted the end of the shaft. The grease had also turned to almost rubber and the circlip on the end of the shaft fell apart when I tried to remove it.

With this shaft compared to the one removed from the N/S the damage is obvious.

So... If anyone has or knows of an O/S/R drive shaft for an ABY coupe then I would be very grateful. Meanwhile I'm off to start a wanted thread.
I'll try to do a bit more this weekend and update again soon.

No problemo, any thing to make it easier to source parts for these cars.

@Andy, I would imagine being a lip seal that you would do the same as you would with a cam or crank seal and move the position slightly if there was a groove.

Agree the seals are easy to change.

Are you meant to put them in a different position if there is a groove?

if you measure them, let me know the dimensions. Our suppliers at work have all sorts of odd stuff available, might be another successful route

They are stock type, but very odd sizes. It would be reassuring to know that they are available outside the dealer

diff seals are easy, just make sure they go in straight
i agree, its a nice easy job! If i remember, the big one was a bit tight to get in and took a bit of persuading!

Im sure those seals are only standard lip seals, could probably source those easy enough else where
