      Thanks for the comments

Yeh I must admit iv got a soft spot for the 8v, after well over a year of driving it day in day out, its never broke down once or had any sort of issues. Im just gona keep working away at it. Its nice to see how the effort iv put in has paid off.

Not been on here in a long time! still been using the car on a daily basis though and been tidying things up on it.
Decided to buy this at the start of the summer for the daily commute, abit of fun and keep the miles of the Audi.

Whilst using that I started making some changes to the 80..
          How it was..

          New wheels, alongside Dads Bug

Then after putting it off since I got the car I swapped the dash for a black one.
          From this

          To This

          Mk3 Recaro's

          Ellipsoid Projector Headlights

          Took some pics of it...

Still have a big list of things to do, Ordered HIDs, Koni shocks and custom springs. Hopefully get it resprayed over the winter and a few other changes I want to make.
          What you's think?

                    Hi Fadeout,

Just to say from the outset, just my tuppence.

Since your first posts in this thread, you've done a much better job than I thought you would. It looks really good.

Other's have posted on here starting from thje same point as yourself, but have given up /lost interest before getting if "finished".

I feel the yellow lights and the yellow/orange indicators are a bit off course. The white wheels would have looked much better in silver, imho.

The silver BBS are lovely on the car, as it the height of the car.

The Mk3 Golfs Recaors are a great addition, as it the black dash/interior. If a set of original back seats could be covered with Mk3 cloth it would be the icing on the cake.

The ellipsoid headlights really enhance the appearance of any B4.

You may wish to consider putting on B4 2.0L 16v front brakes, if you get them cheap in a breakers yard, they will be a good improvement without too much expense. The disc is 280mm and vented with matching callipers. I think 8v front brakes are 256mm solid, i.e. non vented, iirc.

My other suggestions, standard bonnet grille with black surround, (mesh is a bit chav, when it is not an RS2), see if you can find a white V6 being broken to change the door handles to S2/RS2/V6 spec. i.e. colour coded.

Sell the Toyota, so as not to dilute your funds across two cars, and use the B4 everyday, it is not that precious that it needs to be a garage queen?

Using the 8v as a daily driver means that the fuel bills are a lot less than an S2.

Converting to quattro, would be a fair size undertaking, but worth it if the shell is good, and it's going to be a keeper.

                    1.8T is a whole other day's thought.

As stated, these are just my opinions, enjoy the car, looking good.

                    Kind regards.

top quality that thing, love b4 80's, I didnt know saabs wheels fit audi's?, I had a set of those wheels in silver on my old saab 9000 carlsson, they looked great on that too, obviously the ones on it now look much better but even with the saab wheels on it looked great

Absolutly stunning looking car, its amazing what difference different wheels, bumper etc can make to a car.

                              Thanks for the comments

macspring .. Thanks for your input

I have the original cloth seat and the mk3 recaro seats so I will eventually get round to swapping the covers when I get time.

Its already got 16v brakes, I work in a breakers so that helps in many ways!

The Audi's no garage queen but its only done 90k, the shells absolutley solid and running a white car with those wheels through a Scottish winter isnt the best! Iv spent alot of time, effort and money on the 80 over the last few years so dont want to just wreck it for the sake of it when I dont need too.

The MR2's going for sale very soon as i'v bought an A4 (mainly for the misses), but will probably buy something else to replace the mr2, Prob a v6 A4 or something. The MR2 was one of those cars iv always had a notion to own and I got it very cheap. The notion has now worn of though!

As for the engine I'm still quite undecided what to do, Iv thought about a 1.8T but probably not.., Alot of me (I know really boring!) wants to 16v it, maybe turbo eventually, I like the competition look which is kind of where im at body wise so the 16v would compliment it nicely and be abit different with a turbo!.

HORCH.. yeh older Saab wheels fit, quite a good offset for it aswell.

                              Martin.

I'm really likeing this car, well done for keeping it your own and not being influenced by others ideas that can be a bit samey. Have you considered a 1.8 20v NA engine? I have seen a couple of awesome examples recently that have been tweeked nicely to give around 200 hp! Sound the nuts and keep the competition motorsport theme.
