    85 and 86 coupe to a2 projects

    Hallo.
Me and a much more pasionate friend of mine are sitting at the begining of 2 projects.
    1.Coupe gl 84 to a2
    2.Coupe quattro 86 to a2

First car is going to recive flor and g box, subrames etc from a 85 coupe quattro and aan engine with loom.
Seccond car stays near aan engine to get more "closely"
I have some questions to get on the right way:
1.Is 016 box(from coupe quattro) ok for about 300 hp(not going for more).I will get some codes from boxes.
2.Will aan intake manifold fit under bonet near radiator?
3.will a2 front grill make a place for a medium intercooler?

    Thank you,
    Bogdan

.1 yes the box can handle 300 bhp.
.2 radiator doesn't fit in the original position next to the AAN inlet
.3 I think it will but have no experience with it.

We took a closer look at the 2 cars today. The right rear logitudinal member of the fwd car is shorter than the quattro one.So the rear right of the subframe can not be atached to its console.A tubular or rectangular frame for the subrame should be done(frame of the subframe, this sounds strange).I guess after removing the rear flor and leaving only the longitudinal members exposed will tell us more.
Also the front subrame is needed(for the g box mountings). The consoles from front longitudinal members are also needed for engine mountings. But theese seem easy to fit.
      Well,long way started....
About radiator installing .Could a diagonal mounted rad fit aan intake manifold?Or 3b/aby/adu needed?

      Regards

AAN engine for the gl is home.Stripped and found 0.05-0.007mm at all bearings and crank great(worth getting new bearings?)I think i-ll be only after new rings.
No deposits in the engine(i was not expecting that after what i found in my urs4).
Almost all valves seem to leak, head has only 1 small crack between sparkplug and a valve seat.Stock k24 7000 has almost no play, but it is not stripped yet.
Exhaust manifold is cracked in more places.
I will need help with the loom,i-ll take pictures and i'll explain what i want to do.
I need to build a "stander" for the car to be abble to rotate the body for cleaning painting etc. Some ideas(pics)?

        All the best!

I was surprised about bearing tolerances.Bearings have little scratches but play is 0.05mm.What do you think?worth changing?Donor car had more than 200.000 km on dash.
About the loom. Please help me to identify a fiew connectors, and 1 wire(a big ground but from what?)
          1.Connectors 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10
          2.Wire 8(ground),11.12(+ and- for ecu i think)
3.Where go connectors 9 and 10 in relation with I II III IV.....
          4.Where should wires 11 and 12 be connected in relatio with A B C D E F...
          5.Where should be connected + and - from batery on the A B C D E F....
          6.Where + from ignition switch should be connected on the A B C D E F...
7Where is the exit + for fuel pump on the relay panel

What i am after is keeping oe loom and using starter, charging, cooling fan, lights, signals, oil pres(light)
From aan loom i want to use oil temp, oil pres(bar),water temp, rpm signal, speed signal

          Thank you,
          Bogdan

                        Engine ready for a fiew month ago.Stock,new bearings,rings,head refubished,new guides,seals etc.Still need an EM and k24 turbo.
Bought a b4 coupe quattro for fwd to quattro(the guy with 85 cq refused me,and called me he wants to sell after i got home with the b4cq)
Got out all i need from cq(rear flor, tunel, susp.transmision, power steering and aux gauges )
The rear flor is out of the fwd car and working to it...
It seems the tunel from the b4 will go to close to gas pedal.Maibe i'll have to change entire pedal block...
Now i do not have money for an a2 body kit but i realy need the front grille(sport quattro one,to put the custom intercooler inside) and maybe i can buy just that and rear fenders for now(i realy want to spray the car to get it on the road and the upgrades to the whole body kit to be made in time)

Can you recomend me some good priced rear fenders?(a1,a2,sport lwb it does not matter,i start to go mad when i see that car imobilised in the garrage).I like a2 body but i love spq front

You ask why all this fwd to quattro...
Well,to buy a cq(from outside our country because registered here are a fiew and nobody sels) we have to pay 7500 eur(for this car)to be abble to get it registered. It is called environment tax and it helps us to live in a clean country, just grass, flowers and clean air:corey:
If you wander, tax for a nice '90 v8 is about 13.000 eur.And for a v8 after it gets registered you need to pay another tax about 1000 eur/year.

IMHO the 'A1/A2' look is desirable, however the performance is more desirable, I'd forget about the wide arches for the time being, and spend the money on performance and grip... The basic CQ shell will quite easily cope with in excess of 300bhp on 195 section tyres... This negates the need for the A1/A2 arches.... I'd sort the shell out, properly and totally... Then think about the body.... The CQ body can deliver pretty much everything an A1/A2 bodied CQ shell can...

                            He he..
When i saw your car a fiew month ago i was happy that theese cars can look nice only with rally colors,no need for body kit.
But i have some nice rims and they get a little to far out for my stock fenders. And i need to get them spacers now to fit them to quattro hubs...
And there is another problem.CQ front lights new are a fortune(more or less) and nice one are expensive for what they are..The sport quattro front lights are passat lights and they are many..Only the grille is not that cheap but it looks great.
