Thanks, yes I think I have an aby to go in it so a few things to change, but that's not so bad at least I get to know a bit more about it! Very pleased with it for a 20 year old car it's got less marks than my 9 year old corsa!

Hmmm, seeing that design of wheels in black has totally changed my view of them!
I hated them before, but rather like them now, would look good like that on my S4

I wasn't convinced when I first saw them but in the flesh I love them and totally finish the car! The only thing I don't know is are they a genuine audi wheel?

If you and james need a hand with the wiring loom swap give me a shout, also if your using it for the track remove the battery tray, makes so much more space. Cut straight thru it diagonally so the your able to flex the tray, its only held up by a few spot welds which break off, i'll put some pics up later.

That looks great, im also loving the black rims against the red bodywork, would look sweet with an rs2 grill. Good to see it wasn't broken for parts aswell

Sadly due to only having a few hours each evening the only before pictures that were taken are what I have posted.

Basically the car was washed with a mix of water and traffic film remover then pressure washed to remove all the crap from the hard to get to areas.

We then masked up all the window rubbers and plastics and using G3 and a foam mop head which was damp I worked my way from side to side. The roof has quite a lot of laquer missing so I actually did that last but would normally of started there.

Once the whole car was done I did one final coat with the mop using some Nielsens polish I've always had good results using.

Finally the car was washed down with Gold Class Megairs ( SP ) removing any spray left from the G3 and then Dave polished it with one of Auto Glyms polishes

The results are good, ideally if it was mine I'd of has the bumper and lights out as well as some of the other trims but Dave is happy enough and no doubt once the door cards are off he can sort the paint out behind the trims and the lips on the top of bumper.

Its a old car, its had a clock change at some point so I have no idea what the mileage is, sadly its got a few areas on the edges where the laquer has starting to go but in all honesty its miles better than it was and really does look the part now.

Its been atleast 5 years since I picked a mop up so more than happy with the results

Sell it back to me,and have mine.
Dave, I am so pleased you are putting this car back on the road,my sons and I all thought it was to good to brake, if I can help in any way give me a bell. its sad there was no history with it, and as you know I only bought it for the engine,as it now turns out, the car is better than the engine.

I think I might hang on to it for a while, I'm so pleased with how the paint came back, even though James is a bufty with OCD I will sort the little bits out after it's got a motor back in as it's only going to get grubby marks while we work on it. I'm looking forward to getting it all done now though as I'm itching to take it for a drive now it looks so good! I may even have to invest in some of that 3m paint film for when I do some track days!
