Dave check what shocks you have on the car, when I picked it up, from Neal he said it had uprated shocks, but I cannot remember what.

I think your son said it had Koni inserts, will have to check once its up in the air. The springs also look non standard but in fairness they are very scabby so no way of checking what they actually are ! It does seem lowish

Looking good. There is alot of weight to be shed with the under-seal and sound deadening if you want to go that far.
I made a single skin fibreglass bonnet for my b3 coupe and realised how much weight could be saved with changing the bonnet and front wings if you were really keen. You could make it mega light if you could take the doors to bits and just leave the outer skin and a wet floor if it rains.

At somepoint i will go a lot further with it and i know there is a lot of weight to come out of it. I will retain the carpet for now though because i cant stand just painted floors when its wet, its a personal thing.

Its defo sitting on some sort of lowering spring but with out a standard spring i dont know the drop height, and as james said we will check the shocks when its up in the air! i think to be honest it will get some weight removal towards the end of the season i just want to get out on track with it just to see what direction to go with it, only reason i will change the shocks and springs is so i know where its starting from unless the ones that are on there can be salvaged and we can work out the drop height.

Engine is going in this weekend hopefully! And it can go to a track as it sits, which thinking about it is not such a bad thing as I can then tell if the changes ate working.

Right so we started the task of putting the engine in and wiring loom! after much faffing sorting a scrape car before we could start! hit a few snags like how to remove the fan and heater boe from the bulkhead, so we can get the old loom out and the aby loom in. And the other problem is where to cut to remove the battery tray with the least hassle!!

if anyone has done this and would like to share their better knowlege it would be helpful, but i will have a browse anyway.

I told james this during the week.

cut it across from drivers side to back passenger side so you can flex it, its only held on with a few spot welds

no car atm so couldn't get up today

Yeah broke one car in enfield last night, the other today

and yeah keeps the abs in stock position but frees up so much space. Plus you can get access to the loom holes and stuff underneath.

That's what I did - cut it off square at the ABS bracket, and as close to the turret and firewall as possible then I used a linishing disc to smooth it over, a bit of filler and you'd never know it was ever there now
