      Let me understand something! How does the 92.8 Crankshaft for Eurospec and hohenester does 2.5 liter! The bore is still 81mm! It gets 2391! so does these 165 cm2 make so much difference?

      Will the piston forces on the stock s2 block walls be better with this crankshaft compared to the 95.5? Or autitude talks about a bigger block from a diesel or something!

        I've heard that SPM conrods would be manufactured in the US. Just a rumour though.

        And yes its the 980 SEK price for the US guys (or all outside of the european union). Swedish vat is 25%.

        Billman, 165cc is almost 10% more. And yes the best option would be using diesel tall block as the conrod length vs stroke figure is better.

        I'm still planning my 92,8 x 82,0 daily driver... That's 2450cc = 10% more displacement.

          I make it ~2450cc. 82.8 bore would give ~2500cc.

            And could the big end diameter be without the bearings? Haven't measured one. Could be.

              How long must the Rods be to use the 92.8 Ctankshaft with the stock block, and how much for the long block?

              On what block 82,8 ? If it is like the stock , the block walls will be too thin, or am i wrong?

                sometimes the big end are meshured in the rod 50,6,sometimes it be meshured on the tap of the cranck...48mm....i have the 46mm crancktapp on mine custom cranck 94,5mm ....i will use 158.35 conrods...and tall deck(236mm)ALL petrol have 220mm.
                i will use the 83mm bore.the sylinderthikknes are about 6,2 on the 2,5tdi and 6,5 in the 2,4diesel eurovan IL5= 2555ccm....and the garret gt 40 with 0.94 hot side

                  It depends on the compression ratio you want if using the stock or stock oversize (deck height same) pistons.

                    Lets say 8.5 :1 compression ratio and pistons make this way so they dont interfare!
                    So, how long must the conrods be?

                      Come on people, give an idea of the conrod length, for the 92.8 stroke crankshaft used in the Stock RS2 block!

                        Ok, just so you guys know, I'm calling Sten at SPM on Tuesday to sort this whole deal about the SPM rods out.

                        Oh and my swedish should be better than my english - I hope at least.. So if you guys have any questions you need an answer to regarding these rods I can ask him on Tuesay. Monday is the national day in Sweden so everything is closed - have to wait until Tuesday...

                          Well, stock length is 144mm. Stock stroke is 86.4. With a 92.8 crank, stock pistons (at least stock comp height) and stock squish it should be 144-(92.8-86.4)=137.6mm.

                          So somewhere around 137-138mm should work.

                            @Henka

                            Ask STM about custom made Conrods for a stroker lipe Pisobiker! How much can they handle and how much they will cost for Germany!!!

                            Pisobiker said to me on a PM a while ago:

                            On 3b/Aby block

                            a) stroke 95.5mm;
                            b) compression height: 30.8 mm (OEM is ~32.8);
                            c) conrod lenght 141.45mm;
                            d) conrod lenght-to-stroke ratio: 1.48.

                            how did he said the 141.45 number?

                              Well you could ask him about where the rods are from or selfmade.

                              And also few people from Finland ordered sets of rods. SPM told that they are in stock and after the order they told they're not and I think they haven't still delivered them (1-2 months now).

                                So I called Sten at SPM today.

                                I did not remember to ask him about if ha makes them himself but I doubt it. He's got all the blueprints though, he checked through them as we were talking. My guess is that he designed them (or someone did it specificallyfor him) and then he's got someone else that manufactures them for him. This is the reason he's got big batches of them in stock - he buys them in big batches to get the price down. It's probably the only way to get them at a fair price. BTW - he's got over 260 different conrods in stock (Porkkis - this is just what he told me at least!). Same goes with crankshafts and all the other gizmos he's got.

                                The conrods named Audi 2.5 are designed to be used with a 2.5ltr tall block and a 95.5mm diesel crank and stock dimension pistons (stock compression height). They are 155mm long and they have a 21mm pin. Big end is stock size (which btw is 50,6mm bearing OD). He did not know what squish you would get, he did not know what compression height - just that they were stock.

                                He also had another interesting rod. In his own words - it's a rod that can take "a horrible amount of hp". Now, the interesting part is that these rods are 158mm long (remember stock length is 144mm) and they have a 23mm pin. They are supposed to be used in conjunction with a piston with 34mm compression height and a standard 2.2ltr block, such as 3B, 7A, ABY. He's got the whole lot, both rods, pin and piston in stock.

                                I also talked to him about group buys. He won't give you a discount on single sets but 4 or more sets of rods and the price will drop. We didn't really discuss the discount, I just asked him if it would be possible... just so you know.
