Henka, how is it possible to use on a stock 2.2L block and crankshaft 158mm long conrods with a piston's compresison height of 34mm?
OEM conrod is 144mm and OEM compression height is 32.8.
With the above setup piston will go some 15mm above deck at TDC!!

Hmm.. Okej, I did not know the stock height, sorry. I just figured that when he said that they were supposed to be used with those pistons he knew what he was talking about. Apperently he didn't then.
I see your point. It puzzled me at first but I didn't really think about it. He must have been pulling my leg. I'm gonna have to ask hem again I think.Comment

i think so......the tall deck are 236mm and the low are 220mm.he ment the tall block, when he ment the stock block, with stock bore...81,oo on the 2,5 eurovan dieselsComment

Hi Henka,Originally posted by HenkaHey I just realized - it must be with a tall deck! That way they'd work!
Thanks for checking into that!
I'm about to head to bed but wanted to log on here and check what you posted. Turns out my work has blocked access to "discussion forums and boards", so I can no longer follow these threads during the weekday!
But that's okay tho', because I think I'm getting more done now!

I wonder if there is any interest in a group buy on these rods. They are already more affordable than just about any other alternative I've heard of.Kenneth

Sorry, ears just pricked up then... Will these rods fit a standard ABY motor. If so how much are they and yes I'm interested in the group buy at the right priceOriginally posted by auditudeHi Henka,
I wonder if there is any interest in a group buy on these rods. They are already more affordable than just about any other alternative I've heard of.
Cheers ears

SPM has rods that fit stock IL5's. 144mm long (stock 7a/ABy/3B/ADU/AAN....). They are 1225 SEK per rod. This is including swedish VAT which is 25%. Without VAT we are down to 920SEK, which is about €110 I think. Sten at SPM said that in a group buy he could cut the price a bit - I did not ask how much and he did not say. Group buy for him means more than 4 sets of rods.Comment

I am bit confused (maybe it's late...). Are there tuners offering dieselblock conversions (with the use of parts from B3/ABY, like the cilinderhead)? Or are people of this forum calculating the possibilty of a dieselblock conversion (or perhaps a bigger bore or stroker kit with the original block)?
I do know that KRB is driving a 2.5 quattro. From what I have heard with several other marks (VW and Opel) tuners use dieselblocks because they are very strong to begin with, especially the block and crank itself...Comment

Hello,
I'm selling stroker kits for stock 5cyl 20v engines(3b,aby,aan...), or for diesel block too.
from bore size 79.5mm - 83 mm.
Pm if interested.Comment
