    S6 track car - what d'ya reckon

My S6 with 420hp, and 5k miles under its rebuilt engine, has been sat for two years (with the occasional start up to keep it from seizing). This is due to me living in Dublin at present. However, I'll be back in the new year, so I'm thinking of making it in to a track car ie stripping it, sorting suspension and brakes etc etc. What are they like on the track? Crap? Or should I sell and get something ie S2 or RWDish?
The S6 isn't worth much, and I'd be hurt effectively breaking it, but if it was fun on the track, then it wouldn't be sacrilege would it?
    Thoughts please.....

With decent suspension they handle well enough,i have koni/eibach on mine and its a good combo. Also the standard hp2 setup when in good fettle is excellent, leagues ahead of the g60 muck on s2s,i can't remember having any fade on track, you may get some with 420bhp though.

If it's like this, as posted in another thread:

        IMSA S4

        and done properly then yes.

If it isn't, I think you would be better off with a simpler machine for track use, something lighter, maybe with not as much go, but more fun in the corners (that's where you scare people anyway).

You'd have more fun going round the track at a track day rather than parked in the pits with your head under the bonnet/in your hands. The engine is the last thing that I'd be modifiying on a track car.

If you have thousands to spend and are going to do it right, then I'd say yes, otherwise I'm keep it simple (and buy something rwd).

Obviously all the above is IMO.
