    Audi S2 RSR

Could anyone please help me with knowing the specs/tech details for the RSR coupe version of the S2?

I would like to know the performance related differences between a RSR and RS2 performance engine/ drive train.

    Thanks
    Sean

MTM used an kkk26/27/29 to reach a 427bhp if I remember correctly, with some other mods like an exhaust system. The turbo with the 20v engine are the heart of the RSR, buy that turbo and you're almost there.

Does anyone know if any RSRs actually exist, except MTMs demo models?

RSR Article (on Mikes website; www.s2-audi.co.uk)

        From that;

        Gas flowed Head
        Balanced engine
Increase compression from 9.0:1 to 9.3:1
        High performance cams
        Intake (short path)
        Sport quattro intercooler
Exhaust manifold from early quattro s1 rally car
Special turbo;k26 turbine, k27 compressor housing
        Motronic reprogrammed
        Pressure sensor
        Other mods???
        Free flowing exhaust
        1.38 bar boost

        Giving 428bhp at 6400rpm, 358lb-ft at 2600rpm, 0-60 3.9s.

        314 vented discs
        10x17 fr wheels 265 35 17
        8.5x17 rr wheels 235 45 17

There is also bits of information on the forum if you search for mtm.

Another example where compression ratio was actually raised rather than lowered... Hmmm

I noticed that too, seems to have worked though, peak torque at 2600rpm on a K26/27 is very good.

Would be great to see a 'real' dyno, not sure I can believe the torque figure there... 'real' figures always seem so much later than manufacturer claims. Just compare a stock RS2 dyno to Audi figures! Still, the 428hp is impressive and even if that torque figure was at 3600 it would still be very impressive.

I am sure the quote on the RSR specs is correct. However, since the compression ratio of a 3B or ABY is 9.3 from the factory, I doubt that the original journalist had the "Increase compression from 9.0:1 to 9.3:1" correct. However, with that big turbo, I would believe a DEcrease compression from 9.3:1 to 9.0:1.

                    But I could be wrong.

This car came out as RS2 from MTM but when audi produced the RS2, MTM changed the name to RSR. All s2 3B engines and the early ABY had paper headgasket with 9.3:1 compression.

i dont care how they did it, but about the end result, and that was to raise the compression!

all that, according to MTM. If the compression was already 9,3:1 and made these numbers, its the same for me

They didn't raise compression the 3b started life at 9.3 cr
The car in the pics is a 3B engine

Seems weird that 9.0:1 is mentioned since the MTM site says 9.3:1. These days that is low anyway.

                              Thanks gents,

Are there any UK RSR versions around still? If so does anyone on this forum own one?
