    Any updates on this?

    I've just picked up a cheap 7A and I'm tempted to grab a 2.5TDi bottom end to create a 20V 2.6.

    I had a T4 2.4D crank a while ago which I think I skipped.. wish I'd kept that now

the cranc in 2,4d and 2,5tdi, and in the 2,5 10v(petrol) and maybee in the 2,6 5 pot have the 95,5 stoke.... the 2,4d and the 2,5 10v(petrol) and maybee the 2,6 does have the same cranc.... the 2,5tdi cranc does fit in the block, but does NOT have the same P/N.. beacuse the steeplate for the timing in the last throw...
the 2,4 and 2,5 10v(petrol) does have the 150x24 conrods.. and the 236 mm block..2,4 have the 79,5 bore nad the petrol 2,5 10v have the 81,00.. and deep pockets in the piston. 8-((
the 2,5 tdi block have the double strength outside, and the 2,5 marks at the first syl, and 150 x28 conrods..., and 81,00 bore
the sylinder WALLs are about 6,1-6,3mm in the 2,5tdi blocks
no prob to rebore to 82, or 83..
the 20v head vill fit with minor weldin in a corner, to cover the gasged, and to rebore the headbolt holes

        Thanks for the info.

I've been reading up on cranks.

The 92.8mm only comes in the 2.5 Petrol SA T3 Transporter. Nothing else got this crank

The 2.4D from the T4, the 2.5TDi, the 2.5 T4 Petrol and the 2.6 Petrol SA T3 all share the 95.5mm crank which will work, but requires one off pistons to work with the 20V head.

but requires one off pistons to work with the 20V head. LOOOTS of people have built "the stroker" with pistons here att this forum.. all the conrods fill fit from 5 pot... fx 158x 23 or the 159x20 or similar..the Turboverson or some the N/A versons...

Ok I hear what you're saying but who makes the pistons and how much?

you need 155mm rods and s2 rs2 pistons if crankis 95.5mm if 92.8mm use 159mm rods.

This is why I love the S2 forum. Lots of great information from people who have done it

Are the 155mm rods factory or aftermarket?

                Thanks again

Sorry to dig up an old thread but does anyone have an idea of where I can get the 92.8mm 5 cylinder crank used in the almost mythical AAY engine?

You could try in this group as 2.5 engine parts do get advertised here.
