The Volvo setup was actually alot cheaper than a RS2 turbo, plus easier to find, even with trying to get the correct K26/6 housing, it's not alot of work, plus the volvo units would be 10 years newer, with alot less mileage and wear. Should be up and running in the next week or 2.
Paul (S2central) will be mapping the car. He lives only 2 miles away form me :-), I'm making the 3" downpipe so will fit a extra lambda bung for mapping.
Just a quick update, car pretty much screwed together now, but had problems with a set of RS2 injectors I bought form a guy on here, one is dead (See wanted section). Anyway I have had the car running, although only on 4 cyl!!! Had to wait for a K26#6 turbo to arrive from the states, so progress slow for a few weeks.
Made up a 100mm cold air feed into the AAN airbox, I have fitted a K&N panel filter also
Mounted the Turbo just to check the turbine housing was in the same place before welding the DP and wastegate. Changed gaskets, some studs and nuts also.
Also welded up the rest of the downpipe, used stainless wire in the mig, not pretty, but it will do.
Decided I didn't want to pay $240 for a intake pipe, so mad my own from 3" stainless pipe, bought a few silicone couplings off ebay and fitted DV, N75 and breather pipes.
Then came the prob of fitting the front bumper, I think my car has the wrong bumper on it, not sure if this is causing problems, but had to seriously cut the bumper to fit the cooler.
So up for MOT next week, car just waiting on RS2 injectors, I have a standard RS2 chipset at the minute so keen to see what it goes like on that before proper mapping with S2central.
Got the injectors this morning, car up and running with a standard RS2 chip set. Really pleased with the way it goes. Only pulling 18-19psi on the gauge. Definitely pulls alot stronger at the top end. Can't wait for a remap. Up for MOT on Tues.
Turbo is off a Volvo S60r, not sure on the year, I have photo of the information plate somewhere. The turbine is a k26/6 off a early 944 turbo (220bhp). Will hopefully get it mapped soon.
