The map is on the to do list and will be sorted when time and money allow. If there is a better generic map that I can run until that time then please let me know and I'll speak to Richard about it, as I bought the whole kit off him and was not told about race fuel or meth injection at the time.

Glad to see you're happy with it and probably wise to leave some headroom in the setup since you are known for wringing it out on track
The nicest sounding system I have heard was on S2Spike's old maroon coupe, perfect balance between volume & tone. He DIY'd it so I'm sure he could tell you exactly how he made it
you will have to let me know if / when you go to Oulton as its not far from me and I love the circuit
It came and went rather quickly, as these things do sometimes. I decided that I wanted minimum downtime as I hate having a car off the road, so it was all fitted in a weekend and the exhaust was fixed the following week. As for track work, funds that were set aside for that have been redirected into getting the cat sorted for the MOT and before that there were the exhaust repair, new front discs and RS2 fuel pump, so it's not going to happen any time soon. A little more time will allow me to sort the other things on the car out and address the issues raised by prj, above.

I'm gonna rain on your parade, and say that this chipset is made for race fuel or meth injection, and that if it's running 11.5 AFR it's knocking all the time, as it's mapped to run a lot leaner than that without knock. It needs at least 102 RON to run knock-free. The knock maps are heavily upped as well, dumbing down Motronic's knock detection.
The 0.2 bar in fuel pressure won't take it from 11.5 to mid 12.

Also, that rolling road is pretty optimistic. I know my personal custom maps don't make much more than 370, and as some people can attest on here, my personal maps produce lower FATS times (Lloyd's car went from T+S to my map, got extra hp, less lag, better mpg, etc.).

"Generic" and "safe" don't go in one sentence with the T+S 1.9 bar chipset.

    Sorry.

    Little update on this.

Got a 3.8 Bar FPR fitted and had the old girl re-tested and AFRs were in the low 12s, so that's better Power was roughly the same but this time I had a tank of Esso Supreme rather than Tesco 99, which will make a small difference.

At the same time, I had the idle emissions checked and the lambda was spot on but the CO was higher than required for the MOT, so I had to get a new cat fitted (as detailed elsewhere ). This time it was a 200 CPI so a little more restrictive but the good news is that it passed the MOT straight away on the short idle test with some decent low emissions - no warming required

A few other odds and sods that I've done but good to be sorted for another year of tax and test

Final thing to decide is if I get a straight through pipe fitted in place of the back box or have a tiny back box fitted (taken from a defunct centre section) in a bid to make it sound a little bit better Current single box system with a cat is very quiet and I want more :mischeif: Would be fitted on a V band so that I could refit the stock back box in a matter of minutes.

Good job, I'm sure you chuffed. I'm in the middle of pretty much the same Conversion, I'm using the Volvo turbo instead. Hopefully I'll get similar results to you.

I forgot you have a stable of Audis now! Be interesting to see how the 3076 compares to the kkk for future reference - obviously more power

Wait and see what happens next, it would be nice to concentrate on the chassis some more but that's only really necessary for trackdays and I don't do many a year, so it can wait.

That's not true! The coupe is with k26/27 since 2 years and the compi was always with 3076

Now you are ok for the next 6 months

It'll be staying at this engine and turbo spec for the foreseeable future, so will be going on track as it stands - I really want to do Oulton Park this year, as it's near to the missus's parents' house.

A live remap would be nice and I've spoken to prj and Hoffer about it, so wait and see what happens. Immediate issue is the idle emissions, so will have to sort that before anything else and get a decent lead to do logging and see what's what with IATs etc.

    Congratulations on getting there

Whens it going on track? I want to see videos of it passing evos etc!

If you have spare cash you could get PRJ to map it when he is over, he is not that expensive for a live map. His results on a few peoples cars over the generic maps are quite impressive, (more power and lower boost on one for track). Or are you going to wait until the engine is built?

    Cheers

Truth be told, I wanted to do the engine first but I was getting too used to the stock setup and was being tempted by more, having read on here about so many other projects. The OCD had to take a back seat but I'm glad I followed my heart and not my head on this one. Just a few odds and sods to sort out... as ever
