    and we begin

so after a return journey on a flat bed we have started to disassemble and confirm cause of sparks inside bell housing one off the most unsettling sights to come from the timming hole in bell housing ever i am sure

we have started removing engine as new clutch was on cards and really wanted to get in and pull out the engine with help from friends to get a good understanding of how this car is constructed pics included unfortunately only a couple as the guy in the images will be finishing up when i am at work

so work to undertake on this occasion is cam belt and clutch oil plugs cap arm leads.

starter motor would not engage so was unsure due to sparks if clutch had disintegrated and jammed the throw or starter motor got stuck and burnt out turns out neither but both at the same time sort of

    this is the starter motor

and also if some one could shed light as to why there is a tap in the hose it was in off position and i can not understand why it is there

Some one has by-passed the auxiliary radiator and for some reason used a tap instead of using bungs or linking the pipe with a piece of tube. Good luck getting the car back on the road.

where is the best place to get timing belt kit in a hurry my mate uses euro normally but they do not list part that i can see

also do you mean splined input shaft on gear box or alignment pin on flywheel

this car has been chopped welded shiny things put on then back to stock is a real uninspiring sight but i will be caging and then cutting as much out as i can to reduce weight. so really a doggy car is best not only for my pocket on outset but not quite right to strip a gem so fits the bill really here are some images

not the most up to date facility but if its not 300hp min or at least worthy he tries not to find you time we may run dogs but they are quick

You do not want any water flow through the aud rad pipe, put the tap in the closed position, or plug both ends. If you are not refitting the aux rad I would cut them short and plug them (prevents them collecting silt etc).

With the pipes connected water flow through the rad will not be great.

Like Andy said, it should be closed to avoid bypassing the rad.
Best to cut both hoses and bung them though. Sump plugs are perfect size.

IIRC there is no such thing as a kit for the timing belt. You have to assemble it yourself.

You can then chose if you want to change water pump (exchange part) and crank sprocket too.

If your dealer ship cant source the parts in time maybe try getting in touch with Pete @ quattro corner.
He may have all the parts in stock.

If you need a new starter and a 3b flywheel just put a wanted thread up, I'm sure someone will have them for sale.

            Good luck.

if flywheel is damaged i will order clutch flywheel combo from 034 and will build block before the shell so will await call tomorrow i have had a unit offered to me 200 yards from this one big enough for two cars so will be possibly going in there.

really i wanted to run around stock ish hp for a while to get used to how the handles then bring her through the ranks slowly as wasn't looking for a hold on and hope driving style but shall see tomorrow will call euro tomorrow and see if have belt and pump on a dusty shelf if the flywheel is ok i will also file a taper into the starter gear teeth and see if will engage as has lost bout 2mm still throws fine and turns anyone feel this is a bad idea speak up please will post wanted as soon as i know how big the dent in account will be

If the crank bolt is not tightened up with the correct locking tool it can cause the key on the crank pulley to crack and possibly fail. I think they are about £35 for a new one so I'd fit one.

The dealer should be able to get you the crack pulley, the bolt and the diamond washer. As regards to a locking tool, have a look at either my project thread or Andy10v's project thread for other home made versions along the same idea as Will's.
