Hi Acidburn, thanks for the advice

I'll almost certainly be dropping you a PM to have the wishbones from you if you still have them come pay-day. Already overspent this month though and my 4-pot coupe has it's MOT in 2 weeks which I should really keep some cash aside for!

I couldn't find Error404's Koni for sale thread, but s2tornado has been in touch already about supplying some parts

I'll certainly keep with the car. For how much I paid it was always going to need some cash spent on it, but there's a really solid base for a nice car there

Got the battery, sidelights and earth strap fitted yesterday. Changed the spark plugs too. The car seems more willing to idle but it still struggles when cold. Going to book it into a specialist come pay day.

Codes read tonight after struggling to find the diagnostic plugs before some advice from Tonks

No codes when at ignition II but pulled these when running:

What do I need to be worrying about?

            00523 - IAT Sensor-Temp High-Circuit Low-G42 same error code coule be Temp Low-Circuit High
01257 - Idle Air Control Valve
01247 - EV AP Canister Purge Regulator Valver-N80
            01262 - Wastegate Bypass Ragulator Valve-N75
            00515 - Camshaft Position Sensor

Rather new to this so any advice greatly appreciated. Is it a case of wipe them, go for a drive and see what comes back?

Did you clear all of the codes and restart when you tried this?

Cleared them all and restarted this morning. All came back.

PAS cooler pipe removed today. No obvious fractures but blowing in one end with the other covered and you can hear air escaping through little pin-holes.

                  Bad news lads

With the car using more PAS fluid than it does petrol, the handbrakes not working, the diff knackered and it running like ****, I thought long and hard about it and took the only sensible decision that was open to me, bearing in mind my lack of finances and need to buy a house this year.

Yup, I bought a new stereo for it:

PAS cooler pipe arrived today as well:

Big thanks to www.deutsche-parts.co.uk for the great price, comms and service.

The hazards and indicators on the car don't work so I sourced a replacement stalk (thanks djh) and set to work:

Hooked up the replacements and voila!

The indicators work, but unfortunately the rear wash/wipe is almost permanently on. Waiting on another set arriving.

While the wheel was off I took the opportunity to fit the replacement clocks that were supplied with the car in order to (hopefully) fix the dead rev gauge and misreading fuel gauge.

                      Old one:

                      Replacement one:

Mine has 4 connections and the replacement just two, so will have to source another one, which I'm sure will be quite a mission. Nothing on the new one works with just the 2 available plugs hooked up.

Also, what's this plug on the right, and should it be attached to anything? (it's not)

I had hoped to come home to a pile of goodies that I'd ordered for the S2 and give you some nice pictures. Instead, I picked up a new accelerator pedal from Audi and went to the Burger King drive through. Window goes down, I get my food, window goes back up....... erm.... window goes back up? *****.

Looks to have been water ingress into the door and the regulator has seized.

Obviously it had to be raining today. Cut the drive wire and have tie wrapped it in place

And just in this second, from Germany:

Huge recommendation for DC Performance. Superb comms and service from them with regards to the Magnecor leads. Good price too

The spear plug is for the active abient outdoor temperatur-display. See if you find a sensor by the left headligt/in front of the main-radiator. If you find this you only need to get your self a display and plug and play.
