Is this the OEM compi engine? OEM connecting rods?

          Very nice work!

I understand that the compi engine is worse than this hybrid then?

Because you could do the same with the compi engine true?

Just to add more detail for you rocco
ABF engine (G3 2.0 16v) has a longer stroke than the stock compi engine. the head is very similar on all 16v's but KR cams (G2 1.8 16v) are much more aggressive. In standard form the ABF engine KR engine and 6A/ACE (Compi) engine are not much different performance wise, but this way dani90 is combining the best bits of all the engines.

Ok,thanks! So this is a more torquey 2.0 engine than others with the mk2 golf gti 16v cams

                  Well thought then !

i like it. 16vt is one of my favourites.

tbh i cant see much difference between performance on the 9a/6a block to an abf. its about the other bits as much as anything IMO.

gotta say im looking down the same route but im gonna use the I5.

                        nice car good job.

Are there any problems fitting the ABF engine block in compi chassis? The heads are about the same but is there any external differences in the engine blocks? I need to find a replacement for my ACE and ABF's might be easier to find.

plug n play but if you run standart abf its little "tall" engine than ace and the intake will hit hood

6A and ACE even don't have crankshaft impulse wheel, it have shorter rods (144 vs 159 in ABF and other MK3 engine blocks with 236mm height - ADY, AGG, 2E, etc.), oldschool (stone age?) fuel injection, worse rod to stroke ratio

                              Project looks good
Is intake manifold from B5 1.8 or 1.8T?
                              What compression ratio you've got?
