A couple of winters ago i had a bit of a run in with a curb on a snowy day and ended up bending a wishbone which i replaced with just a cheap GSF part to get the thru as this is my daily driver. Ive been getting strange tire ware ever since even though the tracking/camber are adjusted correctly so i put it down to posibly something else being bent. I also decided that it could all do with a refurb and freshen up so i got this little lot.

What ive decided to do, as its my daily, is to get everything i need all built up and ready to bolt on to save my car being off the road for too long. I managed to get pretty much the whole front end bar the motor/trans and strip and powercoat it all.

our press was out of action so i improvised and pushed all the bushes out of the wishbones and subframe with our trusty vice and some man power

so everything got stripped down and sent to powdercoat

I also sent all of the mounting hardware off to be gold zinc plated too.

i just need to find some gold zinc nylocs and a few other little bits n pieces for all this lot then i can start bolting it all back together.

            Looking good Tom
Who does your plating out of interest? Was thinking of buying my own kit but not sure if its worth it.

Are you going with OEM bushes or poly?

              cheers mate.

i had them done at a place called Lorlec ltd, in burton upon trent. its the first time ive ever used them and the results are pretty good. it cost me £30 for that lot, that stipping and plating, some needed blasting too. which i didnt think was too bad of a price seeing as it was all smalls.

ive got polly bushes for the wishbones and anti roll and some soild mounts from bambridge for my subframe but im unsure wether to run them or not.

does anyone have experience with polly bushed wishbones and soild mount subframes on road cars? im gonna be lowering it 40mm too.

Does anyone know where I can get stainless braided brake hoses from? Everywhere ive looked only seem to list either 4 or 6 line kits, my coupe has 8 lines all in.

Exact Engineering Hose & Fittings in Totnes are very good. They can make you any hoses you require. They need to know connector gender, fitting type and material (go for plated steel, cheaper and stronger than stainless) and length.

finally unpacked all of the parts i got back from powder coating today, all's looking great. cant wait to get bolting it all together now. i just need to put in an order with TPS to get all the little niggly stuff i cant seem to find elsewhere, brass bush for the abs sensor in the bearing carrier, upper n lower rear shock bearing rings and so on.

couldn't help but mock up the front struts either in the dining room haha

there actually grey mate, i just cleaned them up and gave them a coat of etch primer. i toyed with getting them zinc plated like the rest of the hardware parts but ive stated to think im going a bit over board and don't wanna go too nuts with detailing as its only my daily driver
