The block is a 1B from the 200 turbo Quattro. Old school

Some modding for knock sensors then an Aby head with 7a cams

If your going to the trouble of modding the block for knock sensors surely its cheaper to just get a 7a bottom end and working on that?

This is more fun. Knock sensors only need some welding to achieve it.

Plus some of the build is on a budget (kinda). This block is in great visual condition. Will see what the piston bores are like before carrying on further. And a compression test..

But this block has been part of the family. Good to see it being brought back to life. It's a change from the usual rebuilds using the common parts.
