Well .. I think (fingers crossed) I'm nearing the end of my hunt for the source of my diff clunk.. With the nearside rear shaft un bolted (very dry cv) .. Turning wheels by hand the clonk disappeared .. But with the car started and on gear it comes back .. Which cancels out both cv's .. Again ..
Centre diff has no play and is good, the noise is definately coming from inside the diff itself.. I'm waiting on some oil and I'm gonna swap the diffs out .. Will post the results later

Swapped the rear diff for a known decent one, with brand new fluid. Had to swap the out flanges as the bolt holes for the drive shafts were too big. But none the less .. All back together, and absolutely no difference. The passenger side rear inner CV was very dry and I think needs replacing, but the diff isn't being allowed to move, the mount is holding it perfectly still. The noise sounds like it's coming from further up now, so centre diff or one of the prop to diff joints ?
Not a clue, but I'm running out of patience lol
