Well mine has no turbo... but it's a coupe, and no motorway runs of late as front wheel bearings are on the way out!

Unfortunately no codes doesn't mean a sensor isn't out of whack, and that's all it can take, you checked the actual reading of the sensors to make sure they actually make sense?

I was getting <20 mpg when I swapped out my suspect MAF it brought it right back up to 26...

Roads round here all country lanes with b-roads, so not exactly cruising at a constant speed, so pretty happy with that. Motorway I would get 30 if only I could keep my speed down to 70

I would expect 20-22mpg around town and 30-32mpg on a motorway run as it's 6 speed.

Which sensors could I look at?

Coolant, MAF, lambda etc, I don't know exactly the setup on the 'T' engines, but sure someone will be able to point you at the right bits.

You near a forum member that would be willing to lend their expertise with VAGCOM?

Failing that I would think a few screenshots would help.

I'll start digging around and see how to test them all. I think Craig said there is someone in Leeds that knows his 20vT's, I see if I can put something together.

I'll hook up vagcom later today maybe, and see what temperatures is ECU seeing. Make some screenshots too.

yup, quattrokid's brother karl knows them inside out and has owned them for many moons now. he's bound to have the vagcom thing and sure to help you find the source of the problem

funny you say that your exhaust has a particular smell to it - the fumes from my old tub are quite embarrassing when sitting in traffic - i have to put the window up!! no smoke but a right awful pong . .

No blue connectors on an UrS4/S6. You didn't scroll down to the UrS 20VT AAN code pulling section:

Oops, my bad! I think I need to start with installing the check engine light, as I am 99% sure I don't have one.

How long is the pause when code is being 'flashed'? It says 2.5s pause but how do I know when 'new' number is being flashed?
