Hi can anyone please help me with my on going project. About to upgrade the front seats in my 1990 quattro coupe for script seats front and rear. rears done but how do you take the front seats out looks straight forward but is it what am i looking for and how do you go about it.
On the notched central adjusting bar is a allen bolt at the end.Undo that, slide seat forward till it comes out of central bar and slide all the way back until the seat frame ends clear the seat runners and lift out.Very simple if a little awkward.Hope that helps

As above and you have to take out the trim on the inner seat runner which is held in by a small clip, be careful it is a bit heavy don't hurt yourself as it is awkward getting it out!
No need to slide forward except to undo the allen bolt and nut. Then with the plastic trim removed from the transmission tunnel side runner, slide the seat all the way back into the rear footwell. It helps to wind the back adjuster so that the seat back is upright. If you then tilt the seat back all the way forward you can roll the whole set towards you and out the door, saves straining your back
