Yea. Headlinings are best entrusted to the seriously skilled. There is nothing worse than a saggy or creased one.
I got the guy at Nationwide Trim in Birmingham to do our Range Rover Classic about 18 years ago and its still perfect and better that the original ever was. Not sure they are around now.
My thoughts exactly, I had been quoted price's well in excess of double that and miles away... Being tight and always willing to try and learn just about any new skill I was going to practice on my B5 TDI, that's starting to go and hasn't got a sunroof so less hassle. The guy is on Facebook Marketplace, just down the road and the photos of his work look spot on. My C4 also wants doing so I'm trying to get him to do me a deal on all three using the same anthracite material required for my RS2.
I'm dreading removing it, the orange foam of death on the back sticks to everything so my alcantara seats are coming out to do it.

Good to see you back Kit and thinking of the RS2 again. I'm sorry to hear of all the very sad news of your Mum and Charlie, that's a huge one to take for anyone. That's why It's good to see you thinking cars again and looking after a dog, that will do you no end of good. Your love for the C4 platform isn't wrong, i've stripped one completely to it's bare bones and they are incredibly well built and strong and could never be without my saloon. I'd try and find a way to keep it and put in an AAN, i know they're not cheap now but you never know. Keep up the good work, onwards and upwards as they say kit.

Heya Mark, hope you and your family are well, good to see you on here and thanks for the good wishes. The last 18 months have been very difficult, loosing mother was awful but we knew it was coming and thankfully didn't have to endure endless suffering like some cancer victims, she was in good spirits until the morphine took her and was only in a local hospice for two weeks. She actually berated us some days and told us to go away and do something useful as she just wanted to be left alone reading which was one of her great passions. However I found finding Charlie and dealing with the emergency services to be a terrible shock that deeply upset me, that was the worst day of my life and that really is saying something.
Having his dog has been a god send for me, she's a Staffy Whippet cross with boundless energy who loves long walks and hunting vermin, very loving, loyal and highly intelligent. She was by his side all day everyday for ten years so I'm the ideal person to take her on as she requires a lot of attention and exercise and I've know her since he got her. Poor thing was distraught for the first couple of weeks, life as she knew it ended that day but she's pretty much totally settled with me now...
Anyway, onward's and hopefully upwards we must go! I know my mother would want to me to be getting on with my cars, both my folks loved their various Audi's and had some really nice ones over the years including a MK1 TT Sport and a twin turbo V10 RS6 which was a match for my mental 3B. Great car's but as you know I prefer the older models, they're so well engineered and a joy to drive without any electrics interfering or going wrong. Having owned and worked on various B2,3,4 & 5's as well as C3/4's I honestly think the C4 is best of the bunch, the only weak points are the fuel tanks and front wings being a little rust prone.
I'm never selling my RS2 whereas I could part with others even if I don't want to. Eventually it'll be having a top notch total glass out restoration though mechanical's always come before cosmetics so getting it driving and back on the road again is my number one priority. At least it's tucked up safe in a very safe dry garage for the time being and when she does see the road again I won't be driving it like madman any longer, that's what my TQS is destined for.
I've really taken to the the 1.8T engine's, sure it's not a five pot but much easier and less costly than tuning and maintaining an S2/RS2, why not consider putting one in a C4 as opposed to an AAN? I've actually very seriously thought about converting mine as I've two complete spare engine's which were basically free but I've got enough projects as it is and the AAH V6 is a nice motor if running properly, great for normal day to driving but with just enough go to make it fun.

I'm glad you and Charlie's dog are best of friends, very befitting under the tragic circumstances, it's also comforting to hear you talk about you mum in that way and that she maintained herself as good as can be with a sense of humour. I think i remember her giving me a cup of tea about 12 years ago, bless her - rest in peace.
Good to hear the passion for the RS2, i still think the B4 80 Avant is a stunning vehicle, only improved upon with S2 and RS2 additions with the bits and bobs, ellipsoidal looks etc. I can't wait to see the progress tbh, they're such a nice car imo and a far cry from anything Audi makes today. Yes the C4, they should have sprayed the fuel tank in a zinc coating then body shutz of some sort, that would have kept them in perfect shape. Very strangely, A6 bonnets suffer with blistering on the right edge, It's a good job the rest of the body is so well protected.
We're are fine thanks, touch wood. Only last month we based ourselves just outside of lairg. We drove 2,200 miles in a week, some 1400 miles just up there mainly Sutherland and the west coast, Bonar Bridge to Laxford Bridge especially the wilderness of the A838 part past Loch Shin, what a road - single track and had it mostly to ourselves. Dunrobin Castle was nice as was Inveraray Castle. The little1.3 4cyl 158bhp and 6 speed Qashqai did a brilliant job of it. We love it up there as i know you do, in fact we need to see you with the RS2 up there with pics, because we like pics!
