    project ur quattro OEM+

Right a few pics of my audi ur Quattro how I got it, its a 20v with 156,000miles and a few laps of the ring

after the last trip I thought the the old girl could do with uprating a touch!

Also there was a bit of rust showing in a few places!

So a full respray was the only option, to save money I stripped the car down and my mate from west gate classics in Aldridge welded the car back up.

I know the S2 was the successor to the Ur- quicker, quieter, more comfortable, etc.....
but the sight of a Ur being used properly (and My favourite is Pic 2 in the Ring, with her properly dug-in to the right-hander, and O/S/Front almost airbourne) is something to stir the soul.
Mine had some issues when I sold her a few years back, and I wish I had had the time (and a garage) to have sorted her
Whatever the cost- you've got to get her sorted (I'll give you a donation, but I'd need a drive of her)

                      Good Luck

So here are some of the repaired sections

All rust that iv found has been cut out and replaced with new metal

                        [IMG][/IMG]

By far the most work was the this on the drivers side inner wing!!!

the above was the drivers rear lower rear arch section, made by my friend out of flat sheet steel

big thankyou to phill as he has saved this quattro!!

Any way after a weeks worth of welding solid we have a soild quattro base with which to build and improve on

                          [IMG][/IMG]

And onto the low loader to the paint shop

                          And into West Gate Classics

You might recognise this place from the Tv program car sos with fuzz and tim shaw

They have already done a quattro for the tv series recently, i helped them with a few parts that they were short with

This is were my welder works

Good work. I love looking at projects like this. Yours has gone in pretty much exactly the same places that my 20v UR rusted. It first failed its MOT because the triangular inner wing strengthening panel had become like damp cardboard - the underseal was still there on both sides, but there was no metal left. Then we got into the meat of the issues with the boot floor, bottom of the rear arches, front wings, bottom of the doors etc, etc, etc. It has taken a massive amount of work to get the car right again. I'm sure you've been thorough already, but check every seam and flange carefully, because there were so many little areas underneath mine that we initially thought were just surface rust where further prodding exposed the full horror and turned a 'tidy up and refresh' into a full scale restoration.
