I just spent 2 hours writing up my RS2 project for Internet Explorer to crash and recover the page without the text. Kill me now!!!!! F~*%@£ Windows!!!!!!

Hard lesson to learn but those who do write-ups (like me) eventually ( ) learn to work off line for things that are more than a few paragraphs and photos. I learned the hard way have lost hours of work too .

IN THE PAST.

Now, for long ones, I work in WORD but insert the photos with the proper html pre- and post-fixes and then save every 15 minutes or so. Periodically I will copy the info (text and photo links) in the WORD doc and temporarily paste into a new thread (say here on the S2Forum) and then I have look to see how I am doing via the "Preview Post" button. Then I will go back to WORD and carry on, checking back in the forum thread (cut and paste) again, until I am finished.

Sorry for your loss. Now you know how to prevent that.

Go to GTI International. Try to forget your problems and have fun. I have long since stopped being p*ssed when the computer crashes and you lose your work. Work off line and Ctrl S are your friends.

Oh no!
I make all my websites off line and then upload when done.
I encourage my staff and pupils at work to save almost constantly.
I've seen many people have important work lost through crashes and battery failure to know not to save.
Get in the habit of naming the document as soon as you start it then ctrl s every few lines.

Do text in word - save often, or better turn on 'autosave' - you did computer studies back in the day I seem to recall

And I only just clocked the timings - On here at 3 and up at 6.30! Crazy man.

What a PITA, I'd have been furious as well.

It's an awesome project, can't say any more than that, will have to wait for Charlie to summon the motivation to write it all up again.

I did suggest he fit stock base model bumpers and TDi badges, all he'd need then is a tartan blanket along with a flat cap and pipe for some serious super car baiting. One of those God fish would be a nice touch, maybe some National Trust stickers as well.

Well first 2 runs I lost to a white MRC RS6 pulling 10.609 and 10.594 respectively, I had no chance. Then I was up against a red Golf or Audi, can't remember now, which pulled a more conservative 14.950 against my 14.374 - my first win . A short lived celebration as my next opponent ran an 11.772 but my time had at least improved to a 13.894.

Rain has stopped play just after I paid for some more sprints, looks like it might be clearing up though, so fingers crossed I can shave another digit or two...
