Alright, i confess, this was not an exact change. Engines were near enough the same, same IC even. But i run a tubular EM and stock IM with all plumbing. Doug runs RS2 manifold and FMTB IM, my manifold helped to improve lag and as does boost came in 4-500rpm lower down than mine, i just put it down to the IM. It MAY be that the tubular manifold has made it worse on my car.

The test wasnt 100% proof i admit. But the inlet tract is a LOT shorter, this can only but help things, IMO.

Tom, yes, that's what I was saying, often when these changes are observed, it is often with other changes that make conclusive results tough. Now spend a weekend swapping around some parts and datalog the different configs, even hit the rollers, that would be very valuable

Javad, is the engine able to run lots of ignition advance?? What sort of boost levels are you using?? Clearly you have gone for ultimate power and that car would have virtually no torque below 5k, not what im after, but just wondered how the engine was coping in terms of ignition.

Yes, as I've stated, this current configuration is an experiment for maximum power.

BUT, by "no torque below 5k" do you mean 300 Ft/lbs ?

Don't be decieved, on the open road by 4krpm the car begins really moving, 5500 feels like being shot out of a cannon, the tachometer lags behind the motor at this point and you need to shift as soon as you sense you're at 6k to make the revlimiter at 7500rpm, the tires erupt in wheel spin in 3rd, a shift to 4th shows 110mph come and go like you're passing 25mph in the 1/4 mile, by 5th you're up against the revlimiter and seeing almost 150mph gear limited.

Now, putting around to the grocery and back, you either putt or take your own life into your hands.

Not saying this motor is torque by any means, that's what the last 455whp turbo was for.

Ahh yes, currently running about 11d advance at the TQ peak, up to 15d at redline, this with 100 octane.

Crikey! This sound more savage than Tom's car.
Tom, what's your car making at the wheels? Corrected to US spec of course.
Just so I can get a better idea of what Javad's car is like.

I cant convert to US figures. it was doing 325bhp at the wheels. But with massive heat soak, so more like 355bhp @ wheels.

Bear in mind also that the gearbox Javad is using has lot shorter gears. My S2 will pull 140 in 4th, not that i have been that fast

Also my car was run using std pump UK spec 98 octane, which is US 93 IIRC???

Tom, what turbo are you running? This will be an easy way to tell, the turbo I'm running at 30psi is rated for about 600-650HP which makes me believe my 516 wheel HP #'s are in the correct range.

Also, what do you all mean by "US corrected #'s"

yeah, horse power at the wheels and crack are rated the same US or Euro. Torque figures vary but HP is the same. Javad's car is furking fast any way you look at it!

Bhp = How much power your engine makes @ the Crankshaft. It is an international standard. If your engine is making 325bhp,then its making.....325Bhp.

Im just going by what Mihnea found when mapping cars in the US, he thought that the dyno's always read higher figures compared to UK dynos?? I dont know about this as i have no experience. I am running a KKK26/27 #8 hotside, running 2.1 bar max and holding 1.55 bar redline (7500rpm).

516@wheels IS fast no doubt, can only imagine what that feels like compared to mine

Sorry. That's my fault. I just heard that US dynos are prone to telling porkies.
