Yesterday i got my fingers dirty. I've hated my interior since i got it as previous owner had never clean it and damaged several places. Getting black plastic interior parts here in norway is not easy, so i had to make some for myself.

here you can see old color and new color. I've glued a thin fiber over it and i'm pretty happy with the outcome. looks kind of stock.

I've already done the headliner, but i need to take it down at some point, peel it of again, sand and flatten it and glue it again.

After this i wanted to see if i could fix my engine problem. It's coughing when driving and stopping when it runs on idle.
My diagnostic says it was a G40 (if i remember correct) with unstable signal. I must have forgotten whats what in the engine bay since i changed these

As the great web tells me, G40 is a knock sensor? Can anyone confirm this? I have sensors on the S4 engine i will use and i believe 20Nm was the correct torque for these?

no,g40 sensor is a hall sensor in your dizzy(tuna can) on the back of the AAN head or
on a aby-adu head the g40 sensor sits behind the camshaft sprocket
you have 2 knock sensors sitting on the engineblock with a blue and a green plug

Crap.. i guess i need to take of the timing belt for this? Do you know if the dizzy and front cam sensor output same signal? I guess so, but nice to have it confirmed.

So.. i've missread the diagnostic a little last night.. probably high on glue. It actually say: 00513 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28): Implausible Signal

So i change the correct sensor last night, but problem seems to still be there. I will do a longer test ride later and see if it's any difference.

But as always the car had other plans.. The plan was spraying both front front fenders and right rear..
Somewhere along the way i must have gone mad and before i knew it the car looked like this

So the new plan was to spray it black.. And here you could see how that went

Would you tell me the paint number?

Engine speed sensor will always show a fault if the engine is not running. Start engine, clear codes and then read codes again while engine is running.

Have you done a boost leak test, a small air leak could cause rough running and stalling.

Also clean the MAF connector pins

And wash the ISV out with WD40, parafin or similar.

I get two errors on sensor. I got a new valve and will try to change this later. Thanks for your help :-)

                            Well thank you!

So.. Last night i got most of the interior fitted and went on a longer test drive to see if my new sensor did the trick. If any it got worse. It actually stopped one time. It started without any problems again and worked fine the rest of the way home.
Starting to suspect the coil pack. It's TFSI coil pack i took from my S4 engine. They were working fine there...

I pulled the plugs today for some Denso IU22. I use it on many small trips where the engine never gets up to temperature so i thought it wouldn't hurt to try them first.

Now i wonder what the brown area is? Boost leakage through sparkplugs or heat?

Last week it was almost ready to ship, this week it's work in progress.
