And there we have it ... couple problems coming up ... car does get rather ... HOT due to taking the small second rad off ... any ideas ?? Im gunna be putting bonnet vents in anyways to aid cooling ... also once oil gets warm the idle pil pressure sits below 1 bar and starts setting low oil pressure warnings off byt rev it to 1.5k and oil pressure sits at 2bar all normal ??? Maybe the weight of oil?? 14w 40 mineral oil was put in by another forum member??

You need to fix your cooling system, e.g. new main radiator and/or reconnect the auxilliary rad, NOT put vents in the bonnet. That is like putting a band aid plaster on skin cancer. You have to tackle the real problem not find a work-around.

Your oil pressure is too low. Should be 2 bar at hot idle and close to 5 bar when driving. Never heard of 14W40 oil and I am not sure what "mineral" oil is. Engine oil is usually either synthetic or "dino" oil, i.e. sourced from crude oil in the ground. Lots of threads on oil.

              From a previous thread:

For air temps from -30C to +40C

              Sythetics: 5W30, 5W40, 10W30, and 10W40

              Dino: 5W50, 10W50, 10W60

For air temps between +15C and -30C

              Dino: 5W30 and 5W40

For air temps between +15C and -17.5C

              Dino: 10W30 and 10W40

For air temps between -15C and 40C (and more)

              Dino: 15W/40, 15W50, 20W40 and 20W/50

Here in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, where -10C is very cold (and thankfully rare), I run 20W/50 year round.

Mineral oil is the correct name for "dino" oil.

Try changing the oil for 20-50 if the engine has done some milage. Use at least semi synthetic, straight mineral cooks a bit too easily for a turbo engine.

                      Maybe in the UK.

On this side of the pond, this is what mineral oil means:

Keep hoping. In the meantime change to 20W50 and then report back. Personally, I am not hopeful but surprise me.

In the meantime, you might want to start sourcing a new oil pump as Plan B.

Using millers 5/40 fully synthetic, oil temp at 100 degrees I get 2 or very slightly below 2 bar at idle. As said, when driving around even at low revs you should get 4-5 bar pressure...something ain't right there
