Very nice, love the red interior but was not keen on the newer style wheels, ones on it now look right.

I hope to get the 4000 running first and at least be able to drive it.
I have another AAN block and head on the side that I will be building for more power. But right now Id like to get it running and get everything connected up

        hahah C4s to hell
The c4s do have a purpose here though.. As donors for B2/B3/B4 cars since we did not ever get anything small chassis with an 20vt in it over here. Only cars around to take apart are C4

Yeah the other wheels came on the car, I prefer the look of the 16" and these are a little more "period correct". Some of my favorite wheels, ATS Type 10, AZEV A

I like to make anything that I can if possible. The intake manifold is still something I want to work on but for now I have left that up to someone with an engineering backround. I will get to work on the other one after I can get one of the cars running .
I have made a few exhausts now out of TIG'd stainless , and some skills are coming along with it. Would like to get to the point where I can make a tubular header.

Alex my Audi buddy sent me the ad and I called the dude and said I'd be down with a trailer and cash in hand by midday. I was about 6 th in line but it was his brothers car and he could tell how much I wanted it , said the other people were just trying to flip. He also had a Jetta Wolfsburg 16V that he sold for like$500 !

Was the "parts" car owned by somebody with the last name "Ray", in Chilliwack by chance? Looks familiar. If it is the same guy his dad has a turbo VR6 in a Mk 1 Karmann Ghia.

Yep I saw the kharmann ghia. Same guy. Before that it was in the Seattle area then belonged to a couple of friends of mine , back in the day ~ 2007 when my friend had it , it was a WX with the whole igloo and all that. ARay bought it and swapped in the 20V.
I still have the body. It needs a lot of help but I don't have the heart to trash it. As of right now it is still wired for an AAN , would drop right in it and be plug and play.

So the 4kq was a bargain as well? It's hard to find them nowadays for a good price.
I bought one from Oregon but not in a good shape

The 4000 wasn't Nearly as much m of a bargain as the Jetta. He knew what he had because he knew his brother has flown to California to buy from the original owner. I think it was on par for the condition of the car but non running.
I guess how good of a deal I got is relative to my taste and what I wanted. I was specifically looking for a white 4K and I put the ownership history and location the car is from above the maintenance side of things. Maintenance can be done but rust/body work/paint is tough for me to fix so I found exactly what I needed.

Yeah rust and damage is a pain to fix

I'm still looking for a clean one, should you ever find one again

Where are you located ? They pop up from time to time but prices are all over the map. I know of a couple for sale in the US now but anywhere from 2,500-10,000

Yeah that's nice, but add shipping and fees to that price and it becomes €12k+ when it's here.
