Yeah, Torsen is an ATB, right? (automatic torque biasing) Limited Slip can only lock the two outputs to reduce slippage, while the ATB can actually send torque where it's most usable?Kenneth

Too bad I didn't get ETKA up and running to check it out... I wanted to be the one who pointed that out. It's a shame that the S8 doesn't utilize a Torsen at the rear - that way we would have had a 340hp-safe rear Torsen to bolt into our cars.
I'm going down this road soon too. Want one up front too however.Comment

Imposible to locate. And the one that is more common is the ZF version insted of the Torsen one.AKmotorsport.net - Manufacturing Motorsport parts that do the job. | Audi S2 on Facebook | Best way of reaching me is sending email to albert@akmotorsport.netComment

The rear diff will take more than 340bhp IMO.sigpic

I think there will not be any problem. The center Torsen handles 100% of monster power without any problem. The rear just has to handle 66% (centre torsen is 2:1) of the Total power of the Car max.94' RS2 Coupe TT (Twin Torsen

Yes, I too do believe that it will take the heat. The center diff is roughly the same size and as you say it handles huge hp with no fuzz. The rear should do fine. It's just that in the last thread about this someone mentioned that some V8 owners had expirienced problems with rear diffs wearing out. My general theory is that eventhough the rear diff housing is said to be sealed for life the oil in that diff needs to be changed. The Torsen unit is relaying on inner friction and this friction is to be transferred through the oil. IMHO this means the oil must be changed. And the V8 is no lightweight either.Comment

I agree, all oils should be changed if they are expected to do any type of worksigpic

The Torsen diff is a torque biasing diff, ie, torque is transfered to the wheel or axle with the most gripS2 Avant......fully loaded   Slipper Wagons Rule !!!!!Comment

Just make sure that you set the bearing pre-load correctly and that the crown wheel and pinion are set so that they mesh correctly !!!!!Originally posted by The SpanishTrying the diff movement. Seem to work Ok.
Both diffs were spares so I am finishing the rear brake project next monday-tuesday and test it with standard diff. In 2-3 weeks I will swap the whole rear diff box with the Torsen one.

I am very lucky. It is being done by a racing team
Will comment them but I am sure they know what they are doing.
Thanks a lot for pointing this.94' RS2 Coupe TT (Twin Torsen
