    Starting now

After GTI Int. as usual comes hunger for more power and more speed, so I am starting on getting all the bits to start new project ‘’the coupe’’.
After getting the approval from better half I am allowed to bend plastic for 5 more grand in next 5 months on some of the bits needed to kick start this project, I am hoping to get it ready for next gti int. 2006.

I’d love to get all the help I can from the best tuning company in da world
The S2FORUM on directing me the right way in achieving this challenge.

The coupe is aby/93 and first I want to get engine 500-600bhp ready, what bits, piston rods, cam shafts, pistons, valves are the best and cost efficient?
I know this is bit cheeky to ask, I could search the forum for all that or follow someone’s project but I’d love to see different opinions.
Any of you suggestions are very welcome.
    Thx.

Thats a good aim 600hp :mischeif:

My setup contains the follow major parts:

    JE pistons
    Pauter Rods
    Custom EM
    Reverse IM
    CR 7,9:1
    k27#7 turbo
    Alloy flywheel
    Uprated clutch
    Big @ss IC
    Motorsport fuelpump 044 Bosch
    Open breather system
3" Exhaust (for 600 maybe 3,5 " system and bigger turbo then K27#7)
last but not least: MRC mapping

This will give you 500+ hp
Fiddling around with bigger turbo's cooler inlet temps and bigger exhausts will be a decent aim for 600 hp.

      Thx Jeffer
Jeffer did you use 3b flywheel or Dutch Rsblues2's flywheel?
Would standard ABY rebalanced crank do the job or do I have to get defrent crank?

We used our homebrewn flywheel You can use your crank but rebalanced with the new flywheel.

Gut feel is that GT40R or bigger is what you'll need for 500bhp. I can Email you the necessary spreadsheets if you really want to get into number crunching. Of course these are only theoretical numbers - you can play with VE & CE all day long but until you get some measurements on a flowbench or in the real world its all just theory.

Enjoy melting your credit card - but remember that you might not enjoy driving this car off boost after the work is complete. The big big modified boys suffer from lag - hence why I always raise a dry smile when someone asks 'what is the best turbo ?'.

                Thx lads
Jeffer was it this one? How heavy is it?

Paul I don’t think I will be using the car on the road to much, definitely not daily use,
not wary about lag, but also don’t want turbo witch starts to boost at 5000rpm
I was hoping to follow Marks H project but he's gone very quiet or he wants to surprise as all
Paul could you send me these files please robert.bartnik@btinternet.com

Robo, if you haven't seen it already, this catalogue might help you choose which one to go for, if you want a Garrett. It'll be the GTR's your interested in.

If you do go for one, I got mine from ATP in the US for a good price.

                    @ rob

Thats it. It weighs ~3,5 kg's. (incl. starter sprocket)
Rpm pickup and drop is wonderfull. It feels way better then a 3B wheel.
And it can handle 500+ HP quattro starts Tested and proved ok.

                    @ mark

What would you think will provide 600HP in the Garret line?

                    Cheers

I don't know if any of you have been on this guys site but he just got 516hp ATW's which is near 700chp and he hopes to shoot for 1000 hp in the future. http://80tq.com/20vtMotor.html He has lots of pictures and lots of real data to look at. There is also a guy named Hap that drives a 93 S4 that has dynoed 400+hp to the wheels and that was before the bigger GT35R turbo and tube header like mine was put on. Here is a picture of his engine bay with new turbo and header.
