What you have to remember is that ETKA has been around for approximately 6 years and although there were 'some' mistakes on it when it was launched, now it is very very accurate.

If the RS2 used low compression pistons then they would have their own unique part number. The fact is that they are the same part number as S2 and S6 pistons

How old is your ETKA ?
Paul, I don't have ETKA anymore, I'm using the russian website...

Re: pistons: the ADU motor has 9:1 compression ratio whereas the S2/S4/S6 has 9.3:1, BTDT, you can run more advance on an ADU engine than on an ABY with an RS2 turbo before it pings....

FFS...I just checked the price of the pistons (complete with rings and wrist pin) from Mahle direct - £139.13 + vat each :eek2:

2nd hand set with new rings and a hone of the cylinders will be my first choice. I wont know if I can get away with just the honing until I get the bores checked for wear..

              Hi Steve,

Maybe an option to have your own pistons custom made. That's what I did!
And a lot cheaper then Mahle pistons, with rings and pistonpen's btw.

              Cheers

Well , I had a local guy that wanted to buy my pistons back then but didn't becouse they was too small to fit kis KV engine. So he ordered racing forged custom made ones somewhere around for 70LS(aprox 140$/each).

For information, Dahlback Racing in Sweden sell a set of "heavy duty" pistons for the 5 cylinder engines.
                  Here is the link+
                  http://www.dahlbackracing.se/english/main.asp
Just follow the S2 link and hit on miscel... you have them on the botton of the page.
                  No prices though

                  Regards

Believe me , you don't want to know how much for each piston from DahlBack . I asked them once. Thanks No !

Since I'm having both 3B and RS2 engines dismantled at the moment, here are the pics of the pistons:

could really not see any appreciable difference...

Marco, I'd swear the dishes are deeper in the ADU pistons....

Not sure? They look very similar. Do you have a depth gauge Marco? If so measure the depth of the dish. It may be very slighlty deeper on the ADU, doesn't need to be much to change comp. ratio by 0.2!

                                Here we go:

Dish is about 59mm diameter and my mesurement of its depth is 1.3 mm on both 3B and ADU.
I may not have been 100% precise on the reading so lets say I could have missed 0.1-0.2 mm (but no more than that).
Let me do some quick math to see what happens to the CR.

                                Se you in 5 minutes.
