Ant...Just make sure the GSF gasket set is a Victor Reinz set. These are OE gaskets as supplied by Audi. I'm 100% on this as my 'Genuine' head set from Audi had ' Reinz' stamped into the metal head gasket.

The headgasket set retail is £75+VAT

Not sure exactly what comes with it for that price tho, that was also going to be confirmed....

Altho (like most ppl on here to VAGParts) i get a reasonably good discount now and was told it would be 35-40+vat to me...

              www.gsfcarparts.com

They have an online shop which is handy...

I think you'd better check with vagparts before you buy then

And I don't hink the "set" will come with anything else.

Martyn did me a great deal on my bits inc the head gasket! (dont want to state prices for obvious reasons but iam sure he'll do others a good deal too!
I use genuine stuff most of the time and always on the engine. Not worth owt else! but if its the same part from GSF, cheaper! then i'd do it to!

Sorry Maryn! 10 points to be deducted from my loyalty card!
Money is everything! Second to Power of course!!! But money breeds power??

The GSF kit includes inlet/exhaust man gaskets, valve seals, cam cover seal and a few other seals and gaskets.

I'd check with Martyn first tho

Sal - the other seals will be for the water manifold - probably. Ant - if your price includes the exhaust manifold as well, that sounds like a good price you would pay.

If you are wanting head studs instead of bolts, speak to SteveH - they are more expensive but don't need replaced everytime you take the head off. If you don't plan on doing it again - then go standard, but if you think you might have to have it off again - get the studs.

Ant/Sal - I have been told that on one corner of the block you can see the gasket and you should be able to tell if it is paper or metal - I never looked though.

Don't let the 20v.org procedure scare you, it is just very detailed.
The feezing of the idler and putting Vaseline in the WP o-ring are tips you won't find in the factory manuals.

                                Best of Luck!
