Try allaudi.co.uk in the south west, or 4ringspares.co.uk but get your house remortgaged for the latter place they like to charge a premium.
Ive heard you have to bin all your procon ten cables on the bulkhead to fit the 6speed.

John, I can get you one, but you'll have to re-read Siena's posts regarding the subframe and so on.

the one I can get is an RS2 unit, in a very good shape, price should be around 2000-ish Euros+shipping but it's well worth the price as it has the reinforced 1st gear.

          Thanks Mihnea

Yes it sounds like a lot of work (and also quite a lot of money...)

I'm thinking along these lines because my 5 spd has gone noisey. Although I'm sure it will last a while yet, if I go for any more power I'll be needing a new one.

I'm told you need the front half of the ABY propshaft and the rear half of the 3B one to make it work. Along with the linkage and a few other bits, wasn't told about the subframe though and it would be a shame to lose the Procon safety features..

AMD were selling an S4 6 speeder for 350 GBP. Not sure if would fit or if it's still available. Best to check with them.

The ABY cars were fitted with Procon Ten until the airbags arrived in the 1995 MY cars so this shouldn't be a problem.

If you need a propshaft for an ABY, contact me offline

              John,

I know of someone with a few 6 seed boxes for sale. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

John - it might be worthwhile finding a accident damaged S2 and sharing cost with someone who wants an engine to play with

Propshaft does not need to be changed, at least, I never have on any 6 speed conversion I have done! Any 6 speed box will fit, even an S4 biturbo one, as the bellhousing of all 6 speeds are generic, and have holes to fit any Audi engine configuration, 4, 5, V6 and V8. 4 cylinder fitment excludes, of course, TT and A3 (Golf) based cars.

Are you saying that an RS4 one will fit my car, Siena?
Are the newer generation boxes any stronger than my late CGR?

Yeah, Lee. The RS4 box will fit your 5 cylinder. Not sure if the RS4 boxes are beefed up, compared to late CGR's, but considering the torque they have to transmit, they are probably strengthened in some form or other. Anyone got any light to shed on this?

Would a 300 hp car need a reinforced first gear?

Dave, my above statement was only valid for 6-speed trannies, do you have one?

Yeah Lee, the RS4 box WILL fit you 5 cylinder. May be uprated from stock CGR, considering the torque it has to transmit. Any one else got any ideas?
