RS2 crossmember will be like hens teeth.. Do you still have your ABY crossmember? You can easily adapt it to fit the RS2 IC
Or is that what you already did?
Really bad luck to get a leak in that pipe.
It shouldn’t be too hard to drill and grind the welds to remove the back of the crossmember and repair the pipe.Last edited by newsh; 15 January 2018, 08:26. -
Yep I modified the ABY to suit the RS2 Intercooler.
Cannot understand how that pipe can fail. Only thing I can think of it has been rubbing against the inside metal crossmember.
My backup plan is to take the back off the ABY and install a stainless pipe (304)
Do you have a reason for repairing the pipe. Would it not be better to replace it with Stainless Steel.Comment

I suppose I’m thinking maybe someone has put a self tapper through it at some time and it would be an easy fix...
Certainly you could replace with stainless, if you can get someone to bend it and swage the ends.
Or make a crossmember to hang the IC from and brace the slam panel and plumb it back to the other side with off the shelf bends.Comment

Will open it up first to see what sort of damage it has.
Depending on the damage will see what I can do.
Thinking of Stainless with a good quality insulation wrapping then squeeze it back unto the original housing.
Still hoping to find a replacement first.Comment
