    Help urgently wanted !

After looking for an s2 for ages i think i have finaly found one worthy of me travelling 200 miles http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/128785.htm
The guy seems very genuine and has owned it from new.He has emailed me loads of piccys but there are one or two niggles, the car has a full service history but reckons hes had no major jobs done ! ie susspension, turbo ect,its got the original brakes because he has never raced it or had any track days but i will probably be looking to upgrade,(any ideas how much it will cost) if anybody can offer any relevent advice before i set off tomorrow on a very long drive ! i would be most gratefull

I think there is a buyers guide on www.s2central.net

I would say dont just jump at it if its the first one you have been to look at.
But I did but i got a bargin I knew i was going to spend out to make it what i wanted.....

Is there some one that is near that can go with you?

Brake up grade cost me about 500 ish

Spotted that on PH today as well.
Loks like a nice unabused S2 which is what you want.
Original turbo/suspension at that mileage is nothing out of the ordinary imho.
Good luck with it - looks like a nice car.

If it seems good and the book has all the stamps and the car comes with large history file then go for it!

I bought the first one I saw because I KNEW it was good. Nice ones don't come up very often so if you like it buy it.

        Good luck.

        Cheers

I noticed that one on PH. Looks a nice example. 1 owner from new is impressive!
Use the guide that James mentioned on S2central.net. I used that and found it quite useful.
I also bought the first S2 I saw but put that down to luck as so far it's been a good buy.
Good luck and hope it turns out to be a good'n!

By all means post any Q's you have up here - seems like a nice clean example - and the more history it has the better - very rare to be the 2nd owner !!!

Suggest you announce what part of the country you are in to see if there is a chance that any of the locals will let you look at their S2 for comparison - or give you a 2nd opinion on this one you are looking at.

Yeah You may find the 'search' button very useful.

Pics are also good too, be good to see another clean S2. Clive H has just bought one with 59k on it from PH, immaculate.

Good luck with ownership, its the beginning of an era for you
