  • Genuine RS2 Steering Arms

Looking for a pair of RS2 steering arms, part numbers:

    Left: 811 419 802K

Right: 894 419 802A (It seems this one is the cranked arm that has to clear the gearbox, i have been reliably informed that an arm from an ABY (S2 6 Speed) would also fit, so am willing to take a chance on one of those too, if you have one)

Anyone know where i can get some?

The right arm has a slight bend in it. Lemforder 020390099504. I have one fitted on my car (S2 Avant) and it's working good. Didn't your mechanic guy have my spare back in the summer?

          Hi Dave

Yes he did contact you for it and fitted it, the car at present is with Dialynx for a cambelt and water pump, plus some other work, whilst up on the ramps they have noticed that when the wheel is on full lock, on that same side as the cranked arm, its causing the wheel to turn too much and fouls on a cooling pipe coming from the back of the block, so theyre saying the steering arm is the wrong one. Im going to pick the car up tomorrow so i will go to check to see if there are any part numbers that i can trace back.

That's strange. If you tap in the Audi part number (894 419 802 A) for the right rod RHD, you get the identical bent rod. I thought the right rod was bent slightly to give it more clearance away from the downpipe which gets very hot!. Was the steering centered properly before the tracking was set?

Yes the right arm is the cranked (bent) arm, I assume it was centred, I want there when it was done but it did go to an Audi specialist for a full geo setup after the suspension was put back into the car. I will check numbers tomorrow.

And was the bracket correctly fitted? Have a look at this post!

You can also see from this brilliant thread that the bent rod is on the right. Thanks Irishs2

Tractor Driver, it seems you have hit the nail on the head, my steering arms are infact fitted outside of the bracket, after looking on ETKA it shows they should be fitted inside. Im almost 100% sure that this will correct the problems im having, will get it done on Monday and will get back to you on this.

                      Cool

When I was rebuilding mine I checked on the forum as it's not obviously which way it goes.

That's been mentioned already and that seems to be the problem.

Just to close this out, good call from TractorDave, I've had the arms connected correctly and the car tracked again and it's nice to drive once again. Thanks Dave.
