  • ABY Coil Cover

As title basically gents, don't need the coils as mine has the modern replacements however the engine bay doesn't look right without that coil cover for me.

    Cheers

You don't want the original coil cover if you run TFSI coils. Unless you plan on drilling holes in it. They get too hot and won't last.
Just trying to save you any hassle down the road.

Cheers for the heads up guys, I have seen the cover used with the TFSI coils but from the picture I saw, it looks like the whole cover sits proud of the 'normal resting place' of about 10mm all around. Ill try to find the pic to repost, either way I would still like to have one should myself or its future owner wish to have it totally original.

I have issues with needing to keep things original

I have one i was keeping as a spare in case I return to OE. I'm not keen on posting mind. When lockdown is over perhaps you could collect? I'm other side of Carmarthen from you. You will have to buy the whole lot mind, coils and all!

I'm using this cover, looks close enough to OEM IMHO with the "20V turbo" inscription and seems to keep them cooler.

It's probably not the most optimum from cooling perspective but to me it has been a good compromise since the top of the coils are open to air.

Those 7A valve covers is probably the best for the heat.
