    Gauge Pod holder - Wanted

I'm after a Pod to fit my recently delivered Boost Gauge (thanks Si, HPmuirt).

Ideally, the one I'd prefer is of the style which CliveH was organising a Group Buy of, unfortunately I missed out on that at the time so I was wondering if anybody on here had one which they no longer want/need. I'm open to any type, it doesn't need to be like the ones CliveH organised.

Please PM or leave a message here

    Thanks, Kieron

Btw anyone had any problems with the vent behind not being able to close? We found this out on sat as the bulb and connection for the guage fouled the flap in the vent.

Yes, I've taken the flap out entirely, it wont close with the gauge in there.

Can you just take it out of the middle or do you have to take it all out? mine still works on the vents? might have to investigate

Thanks for the linky Dest, I've got it in my 'Watched Items'.

Does he do black versions or silver only? I guess it could always be sprayed if he only does the metal finish only...

With the old gauge in there I had the flap in but it would only move a little because of the tube coming off the back of the gauge. The New VDO gauge and vent combo is deeper so the back of the gauge or its clamp was fouling the flap, I just levered gently with a screwdriver and took the flap out entirely. I've never had a problem with unwanted air from the centre vent being jammed open anyway I don't think.

I will let you know what colour mine is, if its silver I will be spraying it matt back.
Ive been racking my brains to try and think of a way to mask the Audi logo as it would be a nice touch in silver still, but cant work out how to do it...
I dont think you would be able use masking tape effectively due to how thin it is

You could try covering the logo in blue hylomar(gasket sealer), wiping off the excess, then after is has skinned over, painting it. when dry peel of the hylomar-clean it up and admire your handywork.(that's the theory anyway)

I found this VDO gauge on U.S bay,
I chose to mount it here, had to make my own holder...

I was thinking of filling the logo with wax, which would be quite easy to remove after painting

Paint the logo in women's nail polish and use a scalpel afterwards to remove it.

It arrived today, and is unpainted alloy.
Ive sprayed it black and (hopefully) kept the logo silver.
It came with two long thin strips of alloy, I guess these are something to do with fitting it? No doubt I will find out tomorrow when I try to fit it... pics to follow!
