Wanted: Power steering pump

Go bad in what way? Obviously stopped working as they should, but how? I guess a search would bring some answers but is there an inherant problem with the parts supplied by GSF et al?

Do NOT GO NEAR GSF or EURO PARTS pumps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got one off audifans.com used zf, low milage for 200.00 us
I'm sure there is something over in the neck of your woods though, slightly used and cheap.
here a rebuilt zf pump from audi costs 600.00 us, and no where else for nothing under 450.00

oh yea, and a rebuild kit only costs 40.00 us (that is of course if you rebuild it correctly), ----------yup, I didn't
but it sounds like you need a whole new core

Also, to add to the above, does anyone know the part number for a PAS pump for an S2 Avant?


I've been told that if GSF stock it, then Europarts most likely will and they're usually cheaper than GSF, and my Step dad has an account with both so he may be able to get some discount over rrp, which is nice... but a part number will be useful too as he's a scrappy so may have some friends in the trade with some!

Don't use eurocarparts!
the trouble i had, would have been cheaper to have just gone to main-dealer!
gsf should be better.

I've had the wrong fluid in my hydraulic system when i bought my CQ, and have so far replaced the servo and bomb due to seal failure - i'm sure the PAS pump will follow at some pont in the non-too-distant future....

does anyone know if there exists a "how to" to change the pump? I have a new one from ZF, but I can't seem to figure out where all the bolts are.
